BSF addl DG reviews security along Indo-Bangla border
1 2 Guwahati: Additional director general of BSF 's Eastern Command, Mahesh Kumar Agrawal , reviewed the current security scenario along the India-Bangladesh international border during his visit to the BSF, Guwahati Raj, IG of the Guwahati Frontier of BSF, along with staff officers, briefed him on Tuesday about the current security arrangements and operational preparedness along the India-Bangladesh international boundary under the Guwahati Frontier. This area covers border regions along Assam's Dhubri, South Salmara Mankachar districts, and West Bengal's Cooch Behar district."The insights into the unrest in Bangladesh, the emerging security challenges, and measures being taken to curb cross-border crimes were also discussed/provided," the BSF said in a media release on the changing scenario in Bangladesh and the current security challenges on the India-Pakistan border, Agrawal insisted on the "need for heightened alertness and vigilance on the border to ensure a prompt and effective response to any adverse situation."Agrawal interacted with bordermen during the 'Prahari Sammelan" at the Frontier Headquarters in Guwahati. He praised the BSF personnel deployed along the international border for effective domination and commendable his visit, Agrawal also held a formal meeting with CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. "Shri Mahesh Kumar Agrawal, additional Director General, Eastern Command, Border Security Force, paid a courtesy visit to HCM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in his office today. They discussed key matters related to border security, during which HCM assured full support from the govt of Assam to facilitate effective and efficient discharge of duties by the BSF in safeguarding our borders," Assam CMO wrote on X. Agrawal also met Assam DGP Harmeet Singh.

BSF Eastern Command reviews India-Bangladesh border security in Assam
Guwahati: Mahesh Kumar Agrawal , Additional Director General, Border Security Force (Eastern Command), Kolkata, reviewed the current security scenario along the India-Bangladesh international border during his visit to the Border Security Force, Guwahati Frontier . Sukhdev Raj, Inspector General, Guwahati Frontier, along with staff officers, briefed him on the current security arrangements and operational preparedness along the India-Bangladesh international boundary. Insights into the unrest in Bangladesh, the emerging security challenges , and measures being taken to curb cross-border crimes were also discussed/provided. During his visit on 13th May 2025, Agrawal also held a formal meeting with Himanta Biswa Sarma , Chief Minister of Assam, and apprised him of matters related to border security. Sarma lauded the excellent operational efforts of the BSF for safeguarding the Indo-Bangladesh international border in Assam. Agrawal also met Harmeet Singh, Director General of Assam Police, and discussed the prevailing security scenario along the India-Bangladesh international boundary. Agrawal interacted with border men during the " Prahari Sammelan " at the Frontier Headquarters in Guwahati. He praised the BSF personnel deployed along the international border for effective domination and commendable duties.
