, reviewed the current security scenario along the India-Bangladesh international border during his visit to the BSF, Guwahati Frontier.Sukhdev Raj, IG of the Guwahati Frontier of BSF, along with staff officers, briefed him on Tuesday about the current security arrangements and operational preparedness along the India-Bangladesh international boundary under the Guwahati Frontier.
This area covers border regions along Assam's Dhubri, South Salmara Mankachar districts, and West Bengal's Cooch Behar district."The insights into the unrest in Bangladesh, the emerging security challenges, and measures being taken to curb cross-border crimes were also discussed/provided," the BSF said in a media release on Wednesday.Highlighting the changing scenario in Bangladesh and the current security challenges on the India-Pakistan border, Agrawal insisted on the "need for heightened alertness and vigilance on the border to ensure a prompt and effective response to any adverse situation."Agrawal interacted with bordermen during the 'Prahari Sammelan" at the Frontier Headquarters in Guwahati. He praised the BSF personnel deployed along the international border for effective domination and commendable duties.During his visit, Agrawal also held a formal meeting with CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. Puri cops conduct anti-terror drills ahead of Rath Yatra
Bhubaneswar: Two weeks ahead of Rath Yatra, which will draw lakhs of pilgrims, Puri police carried out mock drills on Friday at multiple locations to enhance preparedness against potential terrorist threats. The ATS consists of urban warfare-trained commandos from Odisha police's special tactical group. Police recently positioned Rakshak, an armoured vehicle with bullet-proof capabilities, outside the Jagannath Temple. The vehicle is designed to resist intense artillery fire and explosive devices. Rly hauled up for providing filthy train to BSF: 4 officials axed
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday suspended four officials and ordered an inquiry after the BSF accused the railways of providing a filthy, rickety and unhygienic 'special' train from Tripura to transport around 1,200 troops to be deployed in Jammu and Kashmir for the Amarnath Yatra. Sources at the BSF headquarters in Delhi said jawans of the paramilitary force were shocked to see the poor condition of the coaches, which were 'full of cockroaches, broken seats and windows and dirty toilets with no water and strewn with human excreta'. Videos of the rundown and filthy train, shot by some BSF jawans, went viral on social media, triggering outrage over the treatment of security forces, as many online users took potshots at the Narendra Modi dispensation that swears by national security and soldiers. 'It was so shameful that the railways provided a special train with horrible conditions inside. Apparently, the train was not used for months. The jawans would have fallen sick had they travelled in it. Our top brass took up the matter with senior railway officials and asked them to provide a better train, or the troops would not travel,' said a BSF official. The troops were part of the central force reinforcements being sent to Jammu and Kashmir to boost security for the annual Amarnath Yatra scheduled from July 3 in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack. Sources said around 1,200 BSF troops, drawn from 13 companies, were scheduled to board a special train on June 6 for Jammu Tawi from Udaipur in Tripura. The train was supposed to make a few stops in between for more troops to board from Assam and Bengal. 'The train was, however, made available three days later (June 9) even though the jawans were supposed to be deployed by June 12 as per the directions of the Union home ministry. When some troops entered the train, they were shocked to see the horrific condition inside. It was filthy, full of cockroaches, with broken seats and windows and dirty toilets strewn with human excreta. There was no water inside the washroom,' said the BSF official.

IndiGo Passengers Applaud BSF Soldier For Bravery During Operation Sindoor: 'Very Special Traveller'
A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was greeted with cheers on board an IndiGo flight Tuesday morning for his bravery during Operation Sindoor. Assistant Sub Inspector Rajapaksh B T saved fellow soldiers from Pakistan's heavy firing on May 7 and May 8. Terrorists killed 26 people, mostly tourists, in Pahalgam in south Kashmir on April 22. In retaliation, India launched Operation Sindoor early on May 7 to destroy nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir. The subsequent retaliations to Pakistani offensives were also carried out under the same operation. A video shared on the official X handle of BSF showed the airline's captain introducing Rajapaksh to other passengers as a "very special traveller on board". "During Operation Sindoor on May 7 and 8, Assistant Sub Inspector, General Duty, Rajapaksh B T, General Duty, 165 Battalion Border Security Force, was seriously injured while helping fellow soldiers during heavy firing at the international border near Jammu," he said. "His fearless action, even when under attack, helped save the lives of fellow soldiers and forced the enemy to retreat," he further added. The passengers praised his bravery with a huge round of applause. Rajapaksh acknowledged everyone with folded hands.
