Six dead after SUV jumps median, collides with private bus in Karnataka
Six people were killed in a road accident involving two SUVs and a private bus on Wednesday morning in Karnataka's Vijaypura district. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed, police to Vijaypura Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi, the crash occurred on the National Highway near Managuli village in Basavana Bagewadi taluk when a Mahindra SUV300, travelling towards Solapur, jumped the median and collided with a private bus heading from Mumbai to Ballari. Image used for representative purpose only VIJAYAPURA: At least six people, including two children, were killed on the spot and two others injured when an SUV collided with a private bus and a container on National Highway 50 at Managuli on Wednesday. The accident occurred when a Vijayapura-bound Mahindra SUV 300 jumped the median and crashed into a Mumbai-Ballari private bus. Vijayapura SP Laxman Nimbargi, who rushed to the spot, said that four passengers from the XUV and the drivers of both the bus and the container died on the spot. The deceased were identified as T Bhaskaran Malakanthan, his wife Pavitra, their son Abhiram, and daughter Josna, all from Gadwal in Telangana; SUV driver Vikas Shivappa Makani, a resident of Horthi village; and bus driver Basavaraj Rathod, a resident of Kalgutagi Tanda. Bhaskaran's other son, Praveen Tej, has been admitted to the district hospital in Vijayapura. The container driver, Channabasu Siddappa Mali, a resident of Hulajanti, sustained minor injuries. Eyewitnesses said the SUV jumped the median and rammed into the private bus, which then crashed into a container parked on the roadside. SP Nimbargi, along with ASP Shankar Marihal and Managuli police, sent the bodies for post-mortem and cleared the traffic amidst continuous rain. It is reported that Bhaskaran was working as a manager at Canara Bank, Horthi branch, and had taken his family on a tour of South Karnataka.

Six killed in road accident in Karnataka's Vijaypura district
VIJAYAPURA: Six people died in a road accident involving two SUVs and a private bus in this district on Wednesday morning, police said. The accident occurred on National Highway near Managuli village in Basavana Bagewadi taluk and the identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained, they added. According to Laxman Nimbargi, Superintendent Of Police, Vijaypura , a Mahindra SUV 300 vehicle traveling towards Solapur jumped the median and collided with a private bus coming from Mumbai to Ballari. A Bolero SUV is also involved in the accident, he said. "Tragically, six persons have died in the accident -five passengers from the Bolero and the driver of the private bus. Vehicular movement is ongoing on one side of the National Highway," he said. Police couldn't immediately explain on how exactly the Bolero involved in the accident.
