Mai Youssef: From Big Dreams to Bigger Wins

Mai Youssef: From Big Dreams to Bigger Wins Some people follow a path. Others carve their own. Mai Youssef, Communications & Corporate Marketing Director at Canon, belongs to the latter. Her journey is not only about career growth but also about challenging norms and creating opportunities for those with ambitious aspirations. Curiosity: The Fuel That Ignited a Fire Before she was a corporate powerhouse, Mai was a young girl with relentless curiosity. In a world that often tried to fit women into predefined roles, she saw infinite possibilities. Encouraged by a family that believed in her potential, she grew up knowing that limits were meant to be challenged, not obeyed. While many were content with the ordinary, she was drawn to the extraordinary—problem-solving, technology, and the power of communication. It was this mindset that set her on a trajectory toward success, long before she even realized it herself. Marketing Meets Innovation: A Perfect Collision Mai didn't just step into the corporate world; she charged into it, armed with an unshakable belief in the power of Communication to shape narratives, drive change, and create impact. Her journey took her through the fast-paced world of business strategy, branding, and technology, ultimately leading her to Canon. For her, technology was never just about hardware and software. It was about the stories it could tell, the problems it could solve, and the lives it could change. Embracing digital transformation, she helped reshape Communication from a business function into a force of influence. Breaking Barriers : She learned to speak with authority, to stand her ground, and to let her work do the talking. Slowly but surely, she became a trailblazer, not just for herself but for every woman who dared to follow. Failures? She Calls Them Power Moves Mai doesn't see failure as an end; it's simply a plot twist. Every setback, every obstacle, every unexpected detour has been fuel for reinvention. Instead of fearing failure, she has mastered the art of failing forward, turning missteps into steppingstones, challenges into lessons, and lessons into victories. Shaping the Future, One Woman at a Time True leaders don't just climb the ladder; they build one for others. One of the key initiatives is Canon's 'Women Who Empower' program, designed to equip women with the skills, mentorship, and opportunities they need to thrive. True Acceleration Requires Breaking Stereotypes 'True acceleration requires breaking stereotypes, questioning biases, and leading by example. At Canon, we champion diversity across 102 nationalities, with 63% of leadership roles at our MEA HQ held by women.' – Mai Youssef For Mai, success isn't just about personal achievements. It's about lifting others, paving the way, and ensuring that the future is more diverse, inclusive, and limitless than ever before. A Legacy of Boldness, Brilliance, and Breaking the Mold Mai Youssef's story is more than just a career trajectory; it's a movement. She embodies the belief that women don't just deserve a seat at the table; they deserve to redesign the table entirely. To women aiming for greatness, she offers this advice: 'Doubt is the only thing standing between you and success. Be bold, take risks, and never let anyone tell you what you can or cannot do. You are your greatest asset, own your power.' Her journey isn't just inspiring; it's a call to action. The world needs more women like Mai Youssef. And thanks to her, it's getting them.

New A3+ inkjet printer for enthusiast photographers: 10-colour pigment ink enhances the value of photo prints by realising rich colour expression and high light resistance

Today, Canon ( is releasing the imagePROGRAF PRO-310 ( a new inkjet printer for enthusiast photographers with 10-colour pigment ink for A3+ printing, which combines high photographic image quality, light-fastness and abrasion resistance. The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-310, a new product in the large-format inkjet printer series, is a printer that meets the needs of photographers who want to print their photos beautifully and display them as works of art for a long time. By adopting the newly developed pigment ink LUCIA PRO II1, the PRO series achieves outstanding photographic image quality, such as rich colours and deep blacks, while significantly improving the light resistance and abrasion resistance of printed materials, enabling the creation of high-quality works with rich expression and long-term storage. The new LUCIA PRO II inks, which are common to the higher-end models, use a pigment that is resistant to UV rays and does not deteriorate easily. As a result, the light resistance of printed materials reaches up to 200 years2, enabling long-term, archival storage. In addition, when printing on glossy paper, the wax added to the ink smooths the surface, making the printed materials highly resistant to abrasion. It also prevents scratches during post-printing operations such as framing and transportation, improving the ease of handling printed materials. When printing on glossy paper, the transparent Chroma Optimiser ink suppresses reflected light and evens out the gloss, allowing true reproduction of the original colours of photographs regardless of lighting, viewing angle or other environmental conditions. When printing on fine art paper, matte black ink with high black density enables deep, tight blacks. It enhances light and scratch resistance, while creating expressive works that reproduce rich colours and subject textures. Styrofoam used in product packing for the previous model3 has been replaced with recyclable corrugated cardboard and pulp molds, reducing the amount of single use plastic. 1 The same pigment ink used in imagePROGRAF PRO-6600/4600/2600/1100 is used for 9 colours, excluding matte black ink. Matte black uses the same ink as imagePROGRAF GP-4000/2000. 2 When using Canon Photo Paper Pro Platinum. Predicted values calculated in accordance with the indoor light resistance test method and life evaluation criteria of the digital colour photographic print image preservation evaluation method (JEITA CP-3901B) issued by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA). 3 imagePROGRAF PRO-300 (released July 2020) Distributed by APO Group on behalf of Canon Central and North Africa (CCNA).
