Iranian Majles Member Mohammad-Qasim Osmani: Iran Must Build Nuclear Weapons For Deterrence Purposes; Nuclear Technology Will Place Iran On Equal Footing In Negotiations

On April 7, 2025, Iranian Majles member Mohammad-Qasim Osmani posted a speech on his Instagram account in which he stated that "global arrogance" leaves Iran with no option but military confrontation. He argued that Iran must pursue a "rapid and relentless advance" toward developing nuclear weapons as a deterrent. Osmani claimed that possessing nuclear capabilities would place Iran on equal footing in future negotiations. Mohammad-Qasim Osmani: "Avoiding a military confrontation is very sound and logical, but the outrageous demands of Global Arrogance are such that they leave us no other way than this path. So unless we hold the tools to deal with their outrageous force and demands, the only way is a rapid and relentless advance towards building nuclear weapons as a means of deterrence. "Due to the high price that nuclear technology has levied on the country, it should be useful in every field, especially in security, because today, nuclear technology should place us on equal footing in the negotiations."

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian: We Are in an 'All-Out War' That Pales in Comparison with the Iran-Iraq War; Trump's Policies Crippling Iranian Economy; Qatar, Turkey, Iraq Are Withholding Iranian

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated in a March 2, 2025, address to the Majles during the impeachment of the Minister of Finance that Iran is engaged in an all-out war with its 'enemy,' emphasizing that the current conflict far surpasses the war with Iraq. He pointed out that since Trump's return to office, Iranian vessels are facing new sanctions at sea, and the 'enemy' is tightening its grip on Iran's economy. Pezeshkian expressed frustration over Iraq, Qatar, and Turkey withholding funds that belong to Iran and revealed that he had requested Supreme Leader Khamenei to withdraw money from state reserves to cover government debt. He also mentioned that although he personally believes it would be better to negotiate with the United States, Khamenei has firmly rejected this idea, declaring that such negotiations will not take place, 'end of story.'
