Saudi Arabia Showcases Rare Islamic Manuscripts at Marrakech Exhibition

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs unveiled a remarkable collection of rare Islamic manuscripts and publications at the Makkah Library pavilion in Morocco. This exhibition underscores Saudi Arabia's rich cultural, historical, and scientific heritage, offering a glimpse into the nation's profound contributions to Islamic scholarship and tradition. This event marked the ministry's second Jusoor exhibition in Marrakech and the seventh worldwide, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). Organized in collaboration with the Moroccan Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, the exhibition commenced on 10 May and will continue until 19 May, drawing visitors from around the globe. Islamic heritage Rare Manuscripts and Islamic Works on Display The pavilion features an array of rare manuscripts and Islamic works that highlight significant milestones in Islamic law and linguistics. Among the notable items on display are a copy of the Holy Qur'an dated 1839 and a book on jurisprudence principles from 1326, as highlighted by the SPA, offering visitors a unique opportunity to connect with the past. Visitors expressed profound admiration for the manuscripts and Saudi Arabia's distinguished scholarly efforts to preserve this intellectual heritage. They praised the ministry's dedication to documenting and preserving these treasures, making them accessible to modern generations while maintaining their authenticity and emphasizing their scientific and historical value, ensuring that this legacy endures. Meanwhile, the Kingdom's technology pavilion has attracted visitors interested in technology and Dawah, showcasing the ministry's use of modern tools to serve Islam. This pavilion highlights key digital platforms and applications, including artificial intelligence-powered technologies, interactive reality, and smart solutions that expand global access to Qur'an and Dawah content tailored to diverse communities, bridging the gap between tradition and innovation. The King Fahd Glorious Qur'an Printing Complex The King Fahd Glorious Qur'an Printing Complex in Madinah is also participating, underscoring the Kingdom's efforts in Qur'an dissemination. Its pavilion offers a comprehensive display of the complex's publications in various sizes and editions, as noted by the SPA, providing visitors with a deeper understanding of the complex's role in preserving and disseminating the Qur'an. Additionally, the pavilion presents approved translations of the Qur'an's meanings in more than 78 languages, along with explanations of the rigorous review process and advanced printing technologies that set the complex apart. This exhibition not only celebrates Saudi Arabia's rich Islamic heritage but also highlights its commitment to leveraging technology to preserve and promote this legacy for future generations, ensuring that the wisdom of the past continues to inspire the future. RIYADH: Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Islamic Affairs is taking part in the 30th Rabat International Book and Publishing Fair, running until April 27 in the Moroccan capital. It reflects the ministry's efforts to promote the Kingdom's message of moderation and tolerance, and its commitment to printing, publishing and teaching the Holy Qur'an, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The ministry's pavilion features a section from the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur'an in Madinah, showcasing a wide range of printed Qur'ans and translations in various languages. Another section highlights the Makkah Library, displaying rare and historical Islamic manuscripts from renowned writers, linguists and scholars. Represented by the General Secretariat for Exhibitions and Conferences, the ministry is also presenting a range of digital applications and programs for fair visitors. The Kingdom's Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission is also taking part, showcasing initiatives aimed at advancing the publishing industry and enriching cultural activities. These include supporting Saudi publishers and literary agents globally, presenting the Kingdom's intellectual heritage, highlighting its cultural traditions and promoting local literary output.

Saudi Arabia: Haram Authority Launches Smart Luggage Storage Service

Personal belongings no longer will be an obstacle for worshipers to perform their rituals at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. They can avail of the smart luggage storage service introduced by the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque. There are six luggage collection points at the main gates of the Grand Mosque and the owners can pick it up quickly and safely after the performance of their rituals thanks to an advanced electronic tracking system, based on a smart response code. The new service is available 24 hours a day during the holy month of Ramadan. The service allows worshipers to leave their luggage safely before entering the Grand Mosque. They can pick up luggage at the luggage storage centers and pick-up points at the main doors. Luggage is stored in shelves equipped with continuous monitoring systems to ensure maximum protection. The service features check-in luggage and issues a smart bracelet containing a special code to track luggage electronically. The luggage will be transferred to designated storage areas, which are subject to continuous monitoring with periodic alerts every four hours. The luggage can easily be retrieved by scanning the QR code to verify data matching and receive it safely. The service also ensures accurate data matching and fast delivery mechanism. The luggage storage centers are available near the Makkah Library in the eastern courtyard and opposite Gate No. 64, in the western courtyard in Shobaika.
