Malaysia Peduli To Honour Unity Advocates At Inaugural Awards Night
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- The inaugural Malaysia Peduli Awards Night 2025 will be held on Oct 17 to honour individuals who have played significant roles in promoting unity under the Malaysia MADANI framework.
Organised by the Human Responsibility and Concern Organisation of Malaysia (Malaysia Peduli), the event carries the theme 'Unity: Catalyst for National Well-being' and will be held at Dewan Merdeka, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof is expected to officiate the event on behalf of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Prime Minister's political secretary Datuk Azman Abidin said the theme reflects the nation's aspirations, with unity being a key pillar of prosperity and inclusive progress.
'We are seeing how fragile our society can be today. In a multiracial country like Malaysia, it is essential to protect sensitivities around race and religion.
'Preserving unity helps maintain national stability and allows the government to focus on driving economic development,' he said at the pre-launch ceremony today, which was also attended by Malaysia Peduli chairman Noor Sham @ Ann Abu Samah and corporate sponsors.
Azman said the awards also serve as a platform to foster social cohesion, uplift marginalised groups and inspire Malaysians to view national success as a shared responsibility.
'I hope the awards become a model for younger generations and a catalyst for greater civil society efforts to strengthen unity and support economic growth,' he added.
Malaysia Peduli deputy chairman Datuk Azman Yaakob, who is also the event coordinator, said the non-governmental organisation will continue to play its part in addressing key national issues, especially unity.
