Spirit & Style: Bushmills Irish Whiskey and Malbon Golf release limited edition capsule collection inspired by Ireland's north coast

Bushmills Irish Whiskey, from the world's oldest licensed whiskey distillery, and Malbon, golf's leading apparel brand, have teamed up again to release a capsule collection. The new limited-edition collection brings the rugged essence of Ireland's North Coast to Malbon's contemporary designs, and coincides with The Open at Royal Portrush, a stone's throw from the historic Old Bushmills Distillery. Paying tribute to the North Coast's rich influence on the timeless game of golf, the collection features an exclusive line of apparel and accessories all sporting a Bushmills x Malbon signature icon. At its heart is a modern interpretation of traditional County Antrim plaid, a pattern deeply rooted in both Irish heritage and golf attire for centuries. From the rolling greens of Royal Portrush to the fruity, floral drams of Bushmills Irish Whiskey savoured with friends after a round, the region has become a global symbol of world-class golf and whiskey. Alex Thomas, Master Blender at Bushmills Irish Whiskey said, 'At Bushmills, we're incredibly proud to partner with Malbon once again on this second capsule collection – an exciting fusion of rich heritage and contemporary creativity. "Golf and whiskey making are woven into the fabric of life here on the North Coast of Ireland, and with The Open taking place just round the corner from our home at the world's oldest licensed whiskey distillery, this collaboration couldn't be more timely, or more meaningful.' Bushmills x Malbon Glencairn Glasses €47.95; Bushmills x Malbon Decanter Set €236.95 The capsule collection features a curated selection of apparel, including a baseball hat, visor, t-shirts, vest, windbreaker and hoodie. It will be accompanied by a bespoke line extension, which includes a flask and luggage tag set, a decanter set and Glencairn glasses. Prices range from €35- €236. 'Following last year's successful collaboration with Bushmills, which reimagined the timeless pairing of whiskey and golf, we knew we had to go even bigger for our second drop,' says Stephen Malbon, co-founder of Malbon Golf. 'With the world's oldest golf tournament unfolding in the distillery's backyard, we're excited to debut a collection that infuses the spirit and flavour of Northern Ireland's North Coast into modern golf style.' Bushmills x Malbon Windbreaker €118.95; Bushmills x Malbon Vest €130.95 The Bushmills x Malbon Capsule Collection honours the game's oldest tournament, and the traditions, landscapes and people of Northern Ireland. The collection is available now at and from the Old Bushmills Distillery.

Influenced by the beautifully rugged North Coast of Ireland, this Bushmills x Malbon limited edition release successfully couples Bushmills' vibrant history with contemporary fashion for a unique and attention-grabbing line-up of must-haves. Just a stone's throw from Royal Portrush Golf Club, the iconic venue hosting the 2025 Open Championship, Bushmills is home to the world's oldest licensed whiskey distillery. This scenic corner of Ireland is a global destination where great golf, exceptional whiskey, and rich local heritage go hand in hand. Alex Thomas, Master Blender at Bushmills Irish Whiskey, had this to say about the collaboration, 'At Bushmills, we're incredibly proud to partner with Malbon once again on this second capsule collection – an exciting fusion of rich heritage and contemporary creativity. Golf and whiskey making are woven into the fabric of life here on the North Coast of Ireland, and with The Open taking place just around the corner from our home, this collaboration couldn't be more timely, or more meaningful.' Bushmills' partner in this capsule collection, Malbon Golf, was founded in Los Angeles in 2017, where they grew from strength to strength by infusing the iconic and much-loved stylings of golf with the sense of inclusivity and empowering modernity of fashion, art, music, and design. Stephen Malbon, who co-founded Malbon Golf with his partner Erica, tells us that 'Following last year's successful collaboration with Bushmills, which reimagined the timeless pairing of whiskey and golf, we knew we had to go even bigger for our second drop. With the world's oldest golf tournament unfolding in the Distillery's backyard, we're excited to debut a collection that infuses the spirit and flavour of Northern Ireland's North Coast into modern golf style.' As for what to expect from the collection, the lineup is filled with stylish and trendy pieces and accessories that are perfectly suited for both your day on the greenway and your everyday look. If you're gifting to someone (or yourself!), the collection has something to suit every type of budget. Jason Day Emulates John Daly with US Open Malbon Look

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Australian golfer Jason Day and Malbon Golf have done it again. On Tuesday at the U.S. Open, the Aussie stopped people in their tracks as he wore a bold outfit that featured full-on American flag shorts. It seemed like the 2015 PGA Championship winner giving a nod to John Daly, who famously rocked similar attire. This outfit very well could be the 2025 version of last year's Masters vest, but better. OAKMONT, PENNSYLVANIA - JUNE 10: Jason Day of Australia looks on during a practice round prior to the 125th U.S. OPEN at Oakmont Country Club on June 10, 2025 in Oakmont, Pennsylvania. OAKMONT, PENNSYLVANIA - JUNE 10: Jason Day of Australia looks on during a practice round prior to the 125th U.S. OPEN at Oakmont Country Club on June 10, 2025 in Oakmont, Pennsylvania. Photo byFans seemed shocked to see an international player don the Red, White and Blue. As an Australian citizen, Day made an interesting choice, but it again brought so many eyes to Malbon. This brand knows how to draw the eye, and they have a player willing to do it confidently. It is a massive leap from the sweatsuit he wore Sunday at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Many people dislike Malbon because of their non-traditional approach to golf fashion, but this outfit likely won over many haters. Day wore a navy polo from Malbon's new Eagle Buckets collection. He also donned the white pullover from the latest release with an American star collar with red details. The fans could not get enough of this patriotic moment, and their reactions were spot on. One of the best posts about the shorts came from X user, ANTIFAldo, who immediately thought of Daly when he saw Day's outfit, captioning the post "this is John G'Daly." Daly has worn multiple pairs of American flag pants throughout the years. He is notorious for loud pants and has always been unapologetically himself in them. Happy Birthday to British Open Champion and a true american, John Daly #TreysBirthdayTweets — The Main On Trey Comedy Page🇬🇧 (@SportsRM749) April 28, 2025 Thankfully, Malbon styled it with class because there is a fine line when wearing something as impactful as the American flag. It can get cheesy fast. Malbon's choices were not cheesy at all, but very stylish. Sure, the pullover had a wild collar, but it was still subtle enough not to overshadow the shorts, which were the clear statement piece. Leave it up to the Australian golfer to show the Americans how to dress for their national championship. Day lives in Cleveland, Ohio, but it is bold and surprising of him to break out the full Red, White, and Blue outfit. Jason Day: Born in Australia, lives in Cleveland, lover of the red, white, and blue. — Mark Harris (@itismarkharris) June 10, 2025 Fans seem to be coming around to the wild outfits from Malbon, especially ones that pay respect to this country. Things have come a long way since April 2024, when the world stopped for Jason Day's vest. These shorts may surpass the popularity of that first viral moment.
