CT police confiscate consignment of drugs at Wynberg Magistrates Court's holding cells

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police on Tuesday confiscated a consignment of drugs that was likely meant for inmates at a prison. Officers at the Wynberg Magistrates Court received an anonymous tip-off about the narcotics, and this led to a search of the court's holding cells. During the search, police found small quantities of dagga bullets, mandrax tablets, as well as tik. Police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie says the suspects will appear in the same court once charged. "The members also confiscated liquor which was concealed in small sanitiser bottles as well as Xanex tablets and a few packets of cigarettes. As a result of the discovery, the members arrested two male detainees, aged 25 and 38, for the possession of drugs."

The 56-year-old woman sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Further details about her condition remain undisclosed. Authorities have launched a murder and attempted murder investigation, led by detectives from the Anti-Gang Unit, as initial reports suggest the victims were deliberately targeted. 'We appeal to anyone with information to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or to anonymously submit tips via the MySAPS mobile app,' said Pojie, urging the public's cooperation to help bring the perpetrators to justice.
