Maliha Club empowers youth for the future
The workshop is part of the club's programmes aimed at empowering youth with knowledge and technology, and utilising their summer vacation to develop their skills using modern methods that combine fun and education. Building an informed and empowered youth community The Maliha Cultural and Sports Club continues to implement a series of unique workshops and activities throughout the summer programme, encompassing a variety of sports, cultural, and technical aspects, in a stimulating and engaging environment. This reflects the programme's slogan, "Our Holiday is Different," and translates the Sharjah Sports Council's (SSC) overall vision of building an informed and empowered youth community. Lively and interactive atmosphere The workshop was held at the club's headquarters amidst a lively and interactive atmosphere. Participants were divided into cooperative teams, each working to build an integrated robot using basic electronic components such as motors, sensors, and a robotic chassis, under the supervision of specialised trainers from the Foundation. Participants were provided with the basics of handling robot components and learned proper assembly methods, which contributed to enhancing their technical and artistic skills in an interactive, hands-on environment. Participants then moved on to a more advanced stage, which involved designing algorithms to operate the robots, using age-appropriate programming environments. Each team programmed the robot to perform specific tasks within fun challenges that combined entertainment with educational objectives. These tasks included navigating to a specific point, avoiding obstacles, or accurately transporting objects from one location to another. This enhanced their analytical thinking and contributed to the development of problem-solving and teamwork skills. Keeping pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution The workshop was part of a series of events organised by the club during the Sharjah Summer Programme. These activities aim to diversify the activities offered to participants, going beyond sports alone, but also expanding into cognitive and technological aspects that keep pace with future aspirations and align with the Sharjah government's vision to prepare a creative generation capable of keeping pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Parents expressed their appreciation for such unique workshops, which combine interactive learning with practical training, emphasising that they contribute to broadening their children's horizons and opening up new horizons for them in the fields of science and technology. Participants also expressed great enthusiasm and tangible benefit from the workshop, which aroused their scientific curiosity and provided them with a rich, memorable experience.
