Man charged after dog left in car dies, Prince William County Police say
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. () — A man was charged with animal cruelty after he left a dog unattended in a car for hours, the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said.
Just before 6:45 p.m. on Friday, May 16, officers responded to the Manassas Mall parking lot to investigate reports of an unconscious dog.
Investigators said 28-year-old Malik Lee Dorsey-O'Bannion left his 2-year-old American Bull Dog unattended in his car. After a couple of hours, when he returned to the vehicle, the dog was unresponsive.

Animal control officers pronounced the dog dead at the scene.
PWCPD said authorities found he had six other dogs in the mall. They were taken to the Animal Services Center and did not seem to be hurt.
Dorsey-O'Bannion was charged with animal cruelty and held on a $1,000 bond.
