N.J. man accused of groping 12-year-old girl at public pool, authorities say
A Union City man was arrested Wednesday after he was accused of groping a 12-year-old girl at a public pool in the city last year, authorities said.
The alleged incident happened in June 2024, according to a statement from the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
Detectives also found that the man, identified Thursday as 26-year-old Malik Pardo, also sent the girl and a 13-year-old girl sexually explicit messages, the office said.
Pardo was arrested in Union City and charged with second-degree sexual assault by contact, three counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, officials said.
He was being held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny ahead of his first court appearance, the office said.
