Former Chelsea FC and Swedish national team goalkeeper, player Zećira Mušović, teams up with SKF to celebrate a week of football
SKF teams up with world renowned football player Zećira Mušović, Swedish national team goalie, recently returned from Chelsea FC and signed by Malmö FF. She will join SKF during Gothia Cup this summer. GOTHENBURG, Sweden, July 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- SKF has been fighting friction since 1907. Exactly 100 years later, SKF came up with another initiative - Meet the World. The Meet the World tournaments, which lead to a place in Gothia Cup for the winning teams, are held in 15-25 countries where SKF operates. Zećira Mušović will meet with the more than 400 kids SKF brings to Gothia Cup in Sweden, through the Groups Meet the World-initiative when they come together in Gothenburg city. "The Meet the World initiative goes well with my thoughts on how sport breaks down barriers, unite people and let kids meet and celebrate together, in a forum where not much else matters. Throughout my career I have followed my dreams, and I want to encourage kids to dream big and truly feel that dreams can and do come true", says Zećira Mušović. The initiative opens doors for young players who might not otherwise have the chance to travel and compete internationally. Since 2007 over 5,000 young people have been able to join Gothia Cup, the largest international youth football tournament in the world, through the Meet the World tournaments. This year SKF is supporting 22 Meet the World teams from 19 countries - nine girls teams, 10 boys teams and three Special Olympics teams will participate in the tournament. "This is crucial for SKF and represents a joint commitment to inclusion and equality with Gothia Cup," says Rickard Gustafsson, President and CEO. During the tournament, the SKF Arena hosts matches in the middle of Gothenburg city. A new attendance record was set in 2024, when more than 10,000 people gathered in the expanded arena. Since its inception, SKF has assisted over 5,000 players from 260 pre-tournaments make the journey to Gothenburg. Former Chelsea keeper Mušović joins Malmö FF
Former Chelsea goalkeeper Zećira Mušović has joined Swedish OBOS Damallsvenskan club Malmö FF on a free transfer. The Blue Ones announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this morning. Advertisement The Swedish international left former club Chelsea earlier this summer with the player keen to take her young family closer to home. She has now signed a long-term deal with Malmö FF which will run until summer 2028. In her four-and-a-half-year spell as a Chelsea player, Mušović made 52 appearances in all competitions while she kept 27 clean sheets. The keeper won five Barclays Women's Super League titles with The Blues along with three Adobe Women's FA Cups and two Subway Women's League Cups. Mušović was also a UEFA Women's Champions League runner-up with the South West Londoners. After securing Mušović's services, Malmö FF's assistant sporting director, Maxim Kahlil said 'We're incredibly pleased to bring in a player of Zećira's quality and experience at the absolute top level. Her achievements at both club and international level speak for themselves. She's also a strong leader on and off the pitch who will have a big impact in our dressing room. 'On the pitch, she's a fantastic goalkeeper who dominates her area, has great reach and from her position, she commands the back-line and the entire team. West Ham United full-back Belloumou loaned to Malmö FF
The Hammers announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning. The 23-year-old joined West Ham United from Bayern Munich last summer. She was initially loaned out to Italian club S.S. Lazio in the first half of the season to build the necessary appearance criteria needed to play in the Barclays Women's Super League. Belloumou made nine appearances for S.S. Lazio in the Serie A Femminile eBay. It has today been reported that Belloumou has returned from her loan spell in Italy and she will now spend the second half of the season in Sweden with Malmö FF. The Blue Ones are currently in pre-season training ahead of the 2025 OBOS Damallsvenskan campaign. Malmö FF are scheduled to kick-off the season with some Swedish Cup action in early March. Belloumou is an exciting player for the future at West Ham United. The defender has gained plenty of experience from her spells with Olympique de Marseille, Montpellier HSC and FC Bayern Munich. On the international stage, Belloumou has represented France up to and including Under-23 level. The youngster could be competing for minutes at West Ham United next season.
