Two fishermen are missing after their boat capsized near the estuary at Tota Bengre in Mangaluru, due to heavy rains and wind early on May 30. Their names are Yashwant and Kamalaksha. Rain LIVE updates The boat is also missing while the diesel tank of the boat has washed ashore at Tota Bengre, sources said. Search is on for the missing fishermen and the boat. The highway was inundated, and so were the service roads and Kottara Chowki-Urwa Stores Road. Kottara Chowk flooded A portion of the compound wall of St. Antony Ashram collapsed resulting in damage to a portion of a house at Jeppu-Majila. A person was reportedly injured in the incident. Flooding of some houses was reported from Jeppu Majila. Rain water entered several industries in Baikampady Industrial Area in Mangaluru. Highest rainfall Kotekar Gram Panchayat, Ullal taluk, on the outskirts of Mangaluru recorded 312.5 mm rainfall, the highest in Karnataka, in 24 hours ending at 8.30 a.m. on May 30, according to Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC). Talapady Gram Panchayat in Ullal taluk reported 288 mm rainfall during the period. Kinya Gram Panchayat recorded 282.5 mm rainfall. Munnur Gram Panchayat in the same taluk reported 263.5 mm rainfall.
