Two fishermen are missing after their boat capsized near the estuary at Tota Bengre in Mangaluru, due to heavy rains and wind early on May 30. Their names are Yashwant and Kamalaksha.

Kottara Chowk flooded
The National Highway 66 (Udupi-Mangaluru) at Kottara Chowki in Mangaluru was flooded on May 30 as the raja kaluves (storm water drains) on both sides of the highway were overflowing. The highway was inundated, and so were the service roads and Kottara Chowki-Urwa Stores Road.

A portion of the compound wall of St. Antony Ashram collapsed resulting in damage to a portion of a house at Jeppu-Majila. A person was reportedly injured in the incident.
Flooding of some houses was reported from Jeppu Majila.
Rain water entered several industries in Baikampady Industrial Area in Mangaluru.
Highest rainfall
Kotekar Gram Panchayat, Ullal taluk, on the outskirts of Mangaluru recorded 312.5 mm rainfall, the highest in Karnataka, in 24 hours ending at 8.30 a.m. on May 30, according to Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC).
Talapady Gram Panchayat in Ullal taluk reported 288 mm rainfall during the period. Kinya Gram Panchayat recorded 282.5 mm rainfall. Munnur Gram Panchayat in the same taluk reported 263.5 mm rainfall.

A Kolkata-bound 6E 7562 Indigo flight from the Birsa Munda Airport, scheduled to depart at 7:40 am, got delayed by 18 minutes and took off at 7:58 am. A Bengaluru-bound flight from the Birsa Airport got delayed by two minutes. A Ranchi-bound Air India Express flight from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, scheduled to land at 10:10 am, arrived six minutes' late. An IndiGo flight from Mumbai's Chatra Shivaji International Airport landed 56 minutes late in Ranchi. Ranchi's Birsa Munda Airport director R R Mourya said that a few flights arrived late at the airport due to the inclement weather. "Most of the flights are operating at their scheduled time. Though a few got delayed, the delays were nominal. But no flights were cancelled on Tuesday," he added. The Ranchi office of the India Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall for 11 districts on Thursday and Friday under the influence of a low-pressure system developing over the Bay of Bengal. The alert was issued for isolated places in Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Jamtara, Godda, Pakur, Sahibganj, Bokaro, Hazaribag, and Koderma districts. More than 300 roads, including two national highways, were closed in Himachal Pradesh amid fresh incidents of cloudbursts and flash floods on Wednesday, reported PTI. Several bridges were also washed away in the state's Shimla, and Lahaul and Spiti districts. In Shimla, a police post was swept away after floods in the Ganvi ravine, while a bus stand and the adjoining shops were also damaged due to heavy rain. Unidentified officials told the news agency that two bridges were washed away, cutting off Koot and Kyav panchayats. In Lahaul and Spiti district, two more bridges were washed away in floods triggered by cloudbursts in Karpat, Changut and Udgos Nala of the Mayad valley. Incidents of cloudbursts were also reported in Shrikhand hill in the Nirmand subdivision and Bathadh hill in the Banjar subdivision in Kullu district, PTI reported. The Kurpan ravine was flooded and the administration evacuated the Bagipul market due to the extreme weather. Kullu Deputy Commissioner Torul S Ravish told the news agency that a team had left for the site and the damage is being assessed. No loss of life has been reported so far, she said, adding that several cottages had been damaged and vehicles washed away. A cloudburst also occurred in Shimla's Rampur area. A total of 325 roads have been closed in the state. The State Emergency Operation Centre said that 179 of these roads were in Mandi district and 71 in the adjoining Kullu district. The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places in the Chamba, Kangra, and Mandi districts on Thursday. It has also issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in isolated areas from Friday to Sunday. Unidentified officials also told PTI that the state had incurred losses to the tune of Rs 2,031 crore since the onset of the monsoon on June 20. So far this monsoon, 126 persons have died in rain-related incidents in the state, while 36 were missing. The state has also seen 63 incidents of flash floods, 31 cloudbursts and 57 major landslides. Red alert in Telangana Telangana saw heavy rainfall in several districts on Wednesday, with at least three locations recording over 20 centimetres of showers overnight, The Hindu reported, citing data from the state Development Planning Society. The IMD has issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in three districts – Vikarabad, Sangareddy and Medak – and an orange alert in Kamareddy, Nizamabad and Adilabad districts on Thursday. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also announced that all government and private schools within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits will function for half a day on Thursday in light of the weather, The Hindu reported.

Office-goers struggled on August 13 morning as fresh spells of overnight and early morning rains caused water-logging in major junctions in Bengaluru, bringing movement of vehicles to a standstill in several areas. Traffic personnel deployed on the ground were seen clearing waterlogged stretches at several locations. The Intermediate Ring Road in the southern part of the city, particularly near Koramangala, Old Madras Road (OMR) and St. John's Junction (connecting Sarjapur and Marathahalli roads), witnessed bottlenecks that disrupted vehicular movement in bylanes connecting these major roads. According to data from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), eight trees were uprooted and at least 16 incidents of snapped branches were reported across the city. Clearance operations are currently underway. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or even thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds of 30–40 kmph to persist in the city throughout the day.
