Police searching after man escapes from custody in Portage la Prairie
RCMP are searching for a man who escaped custody after being arrested in Portage la Prairie Thursday night. Byron Roulette, a 26-year-old man from Winnipeg, had been arrested by the Manitoba First Nation Police Service when he escaped their custody at around 9 p.m. Thursday. The MNFP then reported the escape to the RCMP. Roulette was last seen on the 500 block of 5th Street SE in Portage la Prairie at 7:30 p.m. He is handcuffed and believed to be shirtless, has blood stains on his shoes, and is wearing grey-brown shorts. There will be a large police presence at 5th Street SE and Queens Avenue in Portage la Prairie as police search for Roulette. Police dogs and the RCMP Remotely Piloted Aircraft System are also in use. RCMP are asking Portage la Prairie residents to be on the lookout for Roulette, but not to approach him. If seen, residents can call 911 or Portage la Prairie RCMP at 204-857-4445 or MNFPS at 204-843-7700.

Man who escaped MFNPS custody last seen in Portage la Prairie: RCMP
Manitoba RCMP are on the lookout for a man who escaped the custody of the Manitoba First Nation Police Service Thursday night and was last seen in Portage la Prairie.
