A woman who was found unresponsive in Winnipeg's North End earlier this week has died, and two people are now facing manslaughter charges.
Police say officers were called to the 300 block of Alfred Avenue shortly after 10 p.m. on Aug. 6. Emergency crews were already on scene providing medical care to a woman found outside.
She was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died of her injuries.
Investigators from the homicide unit took over the case and consulted with Manitoba Prosecution Service, which authorized a charge of manslaughter.
A 36-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were arrested on Aug. 7, just after 2:00 a.m.
They now face manslaughter charge and have been detained in custody.
