Record 1100 entries for Rajasthan State Ranking Open Badminton tournament in Jaipur
Jaipur: For the first time in the Rajasthan badminton history, a record of 1100 entries have been received by the organisers for the State Ranking Open tournament which will get underway at the Sawai Man Singh Indoor Stadium here on Friday. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The six-day annual tourney will be organised by the Jaipur District Badminton Association (JDBA) under the auspices of Rajasthan Badminton Association (RBA). The tournament's organising secretary Manoj Dasot stated that they got an overwhelming response with over a thousand entries. "We received 700 entries in the boys' section and 400 in the girls categories. Several national-level shuttlers are expected to participate in the competition," said Dasot, who is also the secretary of JDBA. The first round of qualifying matches will start at 8.30 am on Friday. Singles, doubles and mixed doubles events will be held in the competition, said RBA secretary KK Sharma. The chief referee of the tourney will be Lokesh Soni, while the match controller will be Vineet Sharma. On the basis of performance in this tournament, Rajasthan squad will be selected for the forthcoming North Zone Badminton Championship scheduled to be held in Himachal Pradesh. The prize money for this competition is Rs 1 lakh. After the first couple of days, the main draw matches will be played from July 27. Finals will be held on July 30.

Manoj Dasot appointed as organising secretary for Rajasthan State Ranking Badminton tournament slated to be held in Jaipur from July 25
Jaipur: The Rajasthan State Ranking Badminton tournament, organised by the Rajasthan Badminton Association, will be played from July 25 to 30 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium Indoor Hall, Jaipur. According to KK Sharma, secretary of Rajasthan Badminton Association, former national level badminton player and state awardee Manoj Dasot will be the organising secretary of this six-day long competition. On the basis of performance in this tournament, Rajasthan team will be selected for the North Zone Championship to be held in Himachal. The prize money for this competition is Rs 1 lakh. The qualifying round will be played from July 25 and the main round matches will be played from July 27. The competition will be played in junior and senior categories for boys, girls, men and women and singles, doubles and mixed doubles events will be played in it. The last date for submitting entries in the competition is July 22. Contestants will be able to submit their entries to the Rajasthan Badminton Association through the affiliated district association officials. Several national-level shuttlers are expected to participate in the competition.
