During the visit, members of the delegation, accompanied by H.E. Mariam Mohammed Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Government Financial Management at the MoF, along with several department directors, attended a series of presentations and interactive discussions highlighting the advanced methodologies adopted by the Ministry across various aspects of public financial management. Showcasing Strategic Initiatives: The Ministry outlined the key pillars of its 2023–2026 strategy, which focuses on ensuring fiscal sustainability, strengthening national financial resilience, and enabling innovation. It also presented its achievements in global competitiveness indicators, driven by agile, world-class performance measures. Presentations highlighted the Ministry's award-winning initiatives in digital transformation and artificial intelligence integration, including 100% automation of internal technical operations, achieving a 95% customer satisfaction rate across digital channels, and reducing service delivery times by 70%. The Ministry also showcased its adherence to the highest cybersecurity standards, its centralised data lake for robust data governance, and the development of predictive analytics to support decision-making and enhance transparency, in line with the 'We the UAE 2031' Vision and the 'UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031'. The MoF further shared its experience in data-driven financial forecasting to ensure efficient and transparent resource allocation, and highlighted ongoing international collaborations with leading institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). It also underscored its role in presenting public finance innovations on global platforms, reinforcing the UAE's position as a hub for smart and sustainable public finance. The programmes and diplomas aimed to enhance the participants' readiness for the future and promote best practices in financial management across federal entities. The ceremony was attended by Her Excellency Mariam Mohammed Hassan Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary of Government Finance Management at the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Kyle Long, President of the American University in Duba and Lucia Real Martin GAICD, Executive Director, ACCA, as well as several department directors from the federal entities and representatives from international academic and professional institutions. Develping government competencies H.E. Mariam Mohammed Hassan Al Amiri stressed that the graduation of a distinguished group of federal government employees from specialised financial programmes and diplomas represents a significant milestone in the Ministry of Finance's journey to prepare qualified Emirati talent to lead the future of public financial management. 'This achievement reflects the Ministry's ongoing commitment to developing human capital and equipping them with the tools and knowledge necessary to keep pace with the rapid development in accounting and public finance, in line with international best practices and standards,' she stated. He added that this achievement reflects their strong dedication to driving the UAE's vision of a sustainable government financial system. Dr. Long also noted that the university is committed to strengthening its partnership with the Ministry of Finance to further support national talent in areas such as artificial intelligence, financial technology, and sustainable policy development. The project is based on benchmark studies and international best practices, ensuring that all programmes meet the highest global standards. It is designed to cultivate a more efficient, future-ready federal financial system, driven by financial analysis, strategic planning, and the integration of digital transformation and artificial intelligence tools. The ceremony concluded with the honouring of graduates, celebrating their dedication and achievements and recognising their successful journey in acquiring specialised knowledge and practical skills. Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has been honoured with the Sharjah Award for Public Finance, winning the category of 'Institution Distinguished in Cash Management, Sovereign Funds, and Banking Financial Services' at the third edition of the award (2024-2025). This accolade reaffirms the ministry's commitment to institutional excellence and innovation in upgrading its financial system while achieving the highest standards of efficiency in managing public finances. Amna Hassan Al Shamsi, Director of Financial Policies and Government Accounting Standards at the Ministry of Finance, also won second place in the category of 'Outstanding Arab Financial Manager, Outstanding Arab Budget Manager', honouring her significant contributions to developing financial policies and enhancing government performance efficiency. These achievements come in recognition of the Ministry's commitment to delivering efficient financial services and continuously adopting international best practices to improve government financial policies, optimise resource management, and ensure financial sustainability, key pillars supporting the UAE's comprehensive development goals. The award aims to promote best practices in public financial management and foster a culture of excellence and quality in government work across the Arab world. Organised by the Sharjah Finance Department, the third edition of the award was announced last August as part of ongoing efforts to encourage government entities, private sector organisations, and individuals to adopt effective and sustainable financial governance practices. The award features 11 categories for individuals and 11 for organisations, aiming to foster competitiveness and promote a culture of excellence across diverse areas of financial management.
