Woman, 20, killed on bicycle in Rockingham County after being hit by car
Virginia State Police said a 20-year-old woman on a bicycle was killed over the weekend in Rockingham County after being struck by an elderly driver, a press release said.
Police charged the driver.
On Aug. 3 at about 7:30 p.m., police said a bicyle operated by Marilyn A. Good, 20, of Rockingham County, was eastbound on Oakwood Drive when struck by a 2013 Kia Soul headed in the same direction.
The driver of the Kia, Shelia Douglas, 85, of Harrisonburg, was charged with reckless driving and not allowing a bicycle the appropriate distance when passing, according to the release.
The crash remains under investigation.
