Family sells hotel overlooking world-famous golf course
A US buyer has added the Scottish gem to its collection of hotels and resorts 'set along some of the world's most coveted golf courses'.
Marine and Lawn Hotels and Resorts, an AJ Capital Partners brand, has acquired the 'landmark' hotel in one of the world's 'most storied golf regions'.
The brand expands its footprint in Scotland with the addition of Greywalls Hotel, a historic estate bordering the famed Muirfield Golf Course. It also acquired Mid Pines Inn and Pine Needles Lodge in the Pinehurst region of North Carolina, US.

Designed in 1901 by the renowned architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, with gardens by the globally celebrated landscape designer Gertrude Jekyll, the property 'has long served as a discreet retreat for royalty, golf enthusiasts, and worldly travellers alike'.
The firm said: 'Privately owned by the Weaver family since 1926, the property has now been entrusted to Marine and Lawn as its next steward.
'Through a relationship with The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, guests of Greywalls will receive access to Muirfield, one of the world's most exclusive and revered golf courses, a sixteen-time host of the Open Championship that is currently ranked number six globally by Golf Digest.'
It added: 'Marine and Lawn's in-house design team will lead a thoughtful restoration of Greywalls, reimagining its interiors, food and beverage program, and overall guest experience while preserving the estate's architectural legacy and connection to Muirfield.'
Marine and Lawn's distinguished portfolio includes Rusacks St Andrews, Marine North Berwick, Dornoch Station, Marine Troon, Slieve Donard, and the recently opened Portrush Adelphi.
