Birmingham Public Library to host Bards and Brews Open Mic at East Village Arts
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Birmingham Public Library will host its monthly Bards and Brews Open Mic event at East Village Arts on June 6.
The event will start at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, and the event is open to anyone ages 18 and up. The event will be hosted by Thed Weller, and it will feature keyboardist Marlon Spears. This month's Bards and Brews event will serve as a tribute to Brian 'Voice Porter' Hawkins, the spoken word advocate who hosted the event until his death in 2021. Volunteers needed for 2025 World Police and Fire Games in Birmingham
