‘Modern Family' Alum Ed O'Neill Lists His Spare L.A. Home for $6.7 Million

Back in 2004, while he was starring as Al Bundy in Married… with Children, Ed O'Neill doled out $2.6 million for a Los Angeles home in the horse-friendly Sullivan Canyon community on the border of Brentwood and Pacific Palisades. A few years later, after he snagged the role of Jay Pritchett in Modern Family, the actor and his longtime actress wife Catherine Rusoff picked up a second place nearby for $3 million. Now the couple has put the first-mentioned residence up for sale at a smidge under $6.7 million with Nancie Richards of Core Real Estate Group. Set on almost a third of an acre off historic Old Ranch Road, the hacienda-style structure was designed by architects Cliff May, widely touted as the 'father of the California ranch house,' and Chris Choate in the early 1950s. Tucked down a private lane that leads to a motor court and two-car garage, the single-level house sports four bedrooms and three baths in almost 3,200 square feet of living space infused with light via walls of glass and skylights. Filtered throughout is a mix of terracotta and wide-plank wood floors, plaster walls, and wood-beam ceilings. The dining room comes with a third fireplace, while a modernized galley kitchen is outfitted with Viking and Sub-Zero appliances. A separate wing holds an office and an attractive primary suite, which features yet another fireplace and sliding glass doors spilling out to a patio, as well as a walk-in closet with its own safe and a bath spotlighted by a pedestal soaking tub. As for O'Neill and Rusoff's other house down the street, the couple acquired that two-bedroom, two-bath spread from cinematographer Robert Richardson in 2011 for just over $3 million. After JoAnna Garcia Swisher, the guest for the April 29 episode of Applegate's podcast "MeSsy," discussed the grief of losing her parents several years ago, Applegate explained why listeners could likely hear her sniffling. "You're probably wondering why I'm crying right now. I'm sorry. My dad just passed away a week ago, and this is the first time I've really cried," the "Married… with Children" star, 53, said. Applegate, whose dad was Robert Applegate, did not share details about his death. "I think I wasn't allowing myself to have that (moment) yet, too busy with this, too busy with that; we knew he was going to die. Is that an excuse for not feeling because you know someone's going to go? And you've said your goodbyes." She added that podcast co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler had asked her before recording whether the conversation might "trigger" Applegate. "I (was) like, 'I'm going to be good,'" she said. "And now I'm insanely sad." Applegate noted she "didn't grow up with my dad" because he and her mother separated when she was 5 months old. But "he's been in my life ever since." '90s Sitcom Star Dies at 58, Homicide Investigation Launched

When a familiar face from the golden age of sitcoms disappears, it hits a little different — especially when the circumstances are still unclear. On Tuesday, March 25, TMZ reported that actress Cindyana Santangelo, best known for her role as Sierra Madre — a dancer at The Jiggly Room on the hit sitcom Married… with Children, had died at age 58. According to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department obtained by KTLA News, first responders arrived around 7:15 p.m. following a medical emergency call on Westlake Boulevard. The sitcom star was found at the scene and later pronounced dead at the hospital. An official cause of death has not been confirmed, and an autopsy is pending. However, homicide investigators are looking into the circumstances surrounding her passing — a standard step when the cause is unknown. Shortly after the news broke online, it didn't take long for reactions to start rolling in. 'Sad loss—rest in peace, Cindyana Santangelo 🕊️💔,' one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter). 'That's too young,' another pointed out. 'Her absence will surely be felt by those who loved her. 💔 Talent like hers deserves to shine forever ✨,' someone else added. But it wasn't just fans mourning the loss — Santangelo's close friend, Cynthia Banuelos, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. 'My heart aches as I write this. I'm still in shock and disbelief. How can you be gone?' Banuelos wrote in a joint post with the CSI: Miami star. 'I will feel your presence in every crashing wave, every salty breeze, and every shimmering reflection of the sun on the ocean's surface. You were my best friend, my wifey, my kindred spirit. The most gorgeous mermaid in human form. Forever drawn to the sea.' Santangelo is survived by her husband, Frank Santangelo, whom she married in 2001, and their two sons, Dante and Lucci.
