Christina Applegate has opened up about the unimaginable pain that comes with multiple sclerosis and how she's been hospitalised almost 30 times since she was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease in 2021.
'Three years since I was diagnosed, I've been in the hospital upwards of 30 times from throwing up and diarrhoea and pain that is unimaginable. They've done every test known to man on me, put so much radiation into my body from [CAT] scans to everything else,' Applegate said in response to a fan letter she read during an episode of her podcast Messy, which she co-hosts with actor Jamie-Lynn Sigler.

Throughout her MS diagnosis and her 2008 battle with breast cancer, which led to a double mastectomy, Applegate has had her husband, Martyn LeNoble, by her side.
In a 2009 interview with People after her operation, the Married … with Children actress spoke of her supportive husband. 'I'm very grateful to Martyn for coming along at a time that he did because he's been my rock through all of this,' Applegate said. 'He gave me something to really want to live for and something to smile about.'

Martyn LeNoble was born and raised in the Netherlands and grew up in a musical family.
In an interview on the Thelonious Monster website, LeNoble revealed that he started playing the violin when he was seven years old to please his grandfather but hated it. When he was 13, he finally picked up an instrument of his own choice, the bass.
After playing bass for a local Dutch punk rock band, LeNoble made the move to Los Angeles in 1989 and went on to play in various bands over the years including Thelonious Monster, Jane's Addiction and The Cult. In 1992 he co-founded the alternative rock band Porno for Pyros.
In 2024, LeNoble announced that he wouldn't be taking part in the Porno for Pyros farewell tour through an Instagram post.
'I've changed. I like quiet and nature. With that being said, I will be following my passion for wildlife and will not be part of the upcoming tour. I wish my brothers Perry, Pete and Stephen the best. I'm truly grateful for every moment I spent with them. Most importantly, thank you to all of you for all of the amazing support and memories,' he wrote.
