Motorcycle driver airlifted after Aug. 15 crash with vehicle in Wood County

PORT EDWARDS – The driver of a motorcycle was taken by helicopter to Marshfield Medical Center after a crash with a vehicle Friday evening in Wood County. The crash happened about 5:37 p.m. Aug. 15 on Wood County JJ, near the intersection with Grundwald Lane, in the town of Port Edwards, according to a news release from the Wood County Sheriff's Office. The initial investigation found a motorcycle was traveling south on Wood County JJ when it crossed the centerline of the road after going around a curve. The motorcycle then hit an oncoming vehicle in the northbound lane, according to the news release. The driver of the motorcycle was taken by Life Link III helicopter to Marshfield Medical Center, according to the news release. The driver of the car received medical attention on the scene and was released. The crash remains under investigation. The Wood County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Wood County Dispatch Center, Wood County Rescue, Port Edwards Police Department, Nekoosa Police Department, Port Edwards Fire Department, Nekoosa Fire Department, Town of Port Edwards Fire Responders, Wisconsin Rapids Ambulance, Wisconsin State Patrol, Life Link III and Nieman's Towing. BEAVER DAM, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin say one man was seriously hurt and eventually arrested for Operating While Intoxicated after he was ejected from his vehicle following a crash at high speeds. According to a release from the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at 3:03 a.m. on Saturday to reports of a single-vehicle rollover crash on State Highway 33 in the town of Beaver Dam. Officials say a 2008 Mazda CX-9 was heading eastbound on State Highway 33 at speeds up to 109mph before it failed to negotiate a curve and over-corrected leading to the vehicle losing control and entering the ditch. Suspect arrested after fleeing and threatening Green Bay police with a knife The Mazda reportedly vaulted and flipped multiple times ejecting the driver who was said to not be wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver, 47-year-old Francisco Manago from Horicon, was taken to Marshfield Medical Center and then flown to UW Hospital with serious injuries. What we know Initial investigation showed a 2008 Mazda CX-9 was eastbound on State Highway 33 when it failed to negotiate a curve and over-corrected, causing the vehicle to lose control and enter the ditch. The Brief A two-vehicle crash in Dodge County on Sunday, Jan. 26 left one person dead and six others injured. It happened on County Road A at County Road B in Beaver Dam. A 32-year-old man from Tennessee was taken into custody for OWI. DODGE COUNTY, Wis. - One person is dead and six others, including three children, were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Dodge County on Sunday, Jan. 26. It happened around 4:30 p.m. on County Road A at County Road B in Beaver Dam. What we know The initial investigation shows a 2024 Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling eastbound on County Road B and failed to stop at the stop sign on County Road B at County Road A. The pickup truck was struck by a 2006 Cadillac Escalade traveling northbound on County Road A. Both vehicles came to a stop in a field on the northeast corner of the intersection. A passenger in the pickup, a 30-year-old man from Tennessee, was ejected from the vehicle and died as a result of his injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, a 32-year-old man from Tennessee, was transported by Beaver Dam Emergency Medical Technicians with serious life-threatening injuries, where he was taken into custody for operating while impaired, first offense. The driver of the pickup was then flown to the Aurora Summit Hospital due to serious, life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Escalade, a 35-year-old man from Fox Lake, was flown to the Marshfield Medical Center in Beaver dam with serious, life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the Escalade, a 38-year-old woman also from Fox Lake, was also flown to the Marshfield Medical Center in Beaver Dam with serious life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Escalade and the adult female passenger were then flown to the Aurora Summit Hospital due to their injuries. One of the juvenile passengers in the Escalade was later transported to the UW-Madison Hospital due to her injuries.
