Mahindra XUV 3XO or Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Design, Size & Style Compared

The compact SUV space in India is packed with options. But two names are doing rounds more than others - the Mahindra XUV 3XO and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Both promise bold styling, practical interiors, and features that appeal to everyday Indian drivers. Yet, the way each one approaches design, dimensions, and on-road personality is quite different. This isn't just about specs. It's about how these SUVs feel, look, and carry themselves. If you're trying to figure out which suits your vibe better, this breakdown might help. Design that Speaks Volumes Design isn't just about looks. It's also about presence. It's what turns heads in traffic or makes you look back after parking. And here's where these two go their own way. Mahindra XUV 3XO: Bold, Even While Parked ● Front grille finished in piano black, giving it a striking face ● DRL-integrated LED headlamps feel modern and functional ● Those R17 diamond-cut alloys aren't just flashy, they command presence ● A continuous LED tail lamp across the back brings a premium touch ● Body lines are sharp and confident The Mahindra XUV 3XO is more about muscle. If you want your car to make a point before you even start the engine, this is it. Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Subtle with Confidence ● Sleek LED projector lamps give it a mature look ● A boxier silhouette that leans more towards traditional SUV proportions ● Two-tone colour options with roof rails lend a sporty touch ● Clean beltline, less drama - and that works well ● Alloy wheel designs are tasteful and refined With the Maruti Suzuki Brezza , what you get is elegance without shouting. It fits in anywhere without trying too hard. Dimensions: On Paper vs In Reality Numbers can tell you a lot. But they also need context. Let's look at how these SUVs shape up size-wise. ● The Mahindra XUV 3XO feels wider inside, especially for rear passengers. Its longer wheelbase improves ride balance. ● The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is slightly taller, and that upright height can appeal to drivers who like that SUV-style seating. Boot space isn't drastically different, though the XUV takes a small lead. Inside the Cabin: Where You Spend Time Interior design is less about flash and more about how it makes you feel, especially during long drives or daily traffic hauls. Mahindra XUV 3XO: Feels a Segment Above ● Leatherette seats, soft-touch dash, and door trims feel premium ● Rear AC vents and USB-C charging are standard, not limited to top models ● Dual-zone climate control and front armrest with storage add comfort ● Skyroof lets light pour in, making the cabin feel spacious ● Twin HD displays (cluster and infotainment) make tech the hero Everything in the Mahindra XUV 3XO feels like it's been thought through. Even the layout of controls feels driver-first. Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Simple and Sorted ● A black and brown cabin theme that looks neat without being too dark ● Features like ambient lighting, paddle shifters, and telescopic steering enhance the drive ● Rear USB (Type A and C) and AC vents improve the second-row experience ● Wireless charger, flat-bottom steering, and head-up display in higher variants ● Storage spots and controls are exactly where you'd want them The Maruti Suzuki Brezza isn't trying to impress you with gloss. Instead, it focuses on usability, which often matters more. Tech Features: Beyond Just Screens In-car technology is now a must, not a luxury. And both these SUVs understand that well. The Mahindra XUV 3XO aims for a smarter, more connected experience. But the Maruti Suzuki Brezza keeps things practical—and for many, that's enough. Safety: Passive, Active and Everything In Between Safety tech has come a long way. Both SUVs offer good protection, but one takes it further. Mahindra XUV 3XO: Packed to the Roof ● 6 airbags standard ● Level 2 ADAS with features like Adaptive Cruise, Auto Emergency Braking, and Lane Keep Assist ● 360-degree surround view camera with blind spot monitoring ● ESC, TPMS, and electronic parking brake with auto hold It's safe to say the Mahindra XUV 3XO is among the most safety-loaded cars in the segment right now. Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Reliable, No Gimmicks ● 6 airbags as standard ● ESP with Hill Hold Assist across variants ● Rear parking camera, reverse sensors, and ISOFIX mounts ● Head-Up Display adds visibility without distraction The Maruti Suzuki Brezza sticks to the essentials. No gimmicks. Just solid safety equipment that's been tried and tested. Design Details: Small Things That Matter Sometimes the little bits - the trims, lamps, and badges - give a vehicle its personality. Each vehicle has its own flavour. If you want edgy, the Mahindra XUV 3XO brings drama. If you prefer polish, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza keeps it classy. Which One Suits You? This isn't about which is better. It's about which one suits you better. If you enjoy having the newest features, love a bolder stance, and prefer a cabin that feels more premium than its price, the Mahindra XUV 3XO will tick all your boxes. ● If your priority is trust, ease of ownership, subtle styling, and features that do exactly what they should, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza will feel like home. ● The Mahindra XUV 3XO and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza are top contenders in the compact SUV space. There's no wrong choice here - just the one that feels right when you get behind the wheel. 'This article is part of sponsored content programme.'

Automakers accelerate flex fuel vehicle development ahead of new CAFE rules announcement

KOLKATA: Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) and Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) have all stepped on the flexi fuel accelerator following the minister of road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari's recent remark that new Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency (CAFE) rules would balance both electric and flex fuel engines. This means the new CAFE 3 framework, due in April 2027, will give flex fuel vehicles that run on petrol-ethanol blends the same regulatory benefits as EVs. Flex fuel refers to petrol mixed with ethanol anywhere between 20% to 100% that is derived from the fermentation of sugars and starches found in plants. Gadkari's recent remarks follow a meeting he held last year with representatives of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) in which he asked automakers to look into ways of making these flex fuel vehicles more acceptable to the public, citing Brazil's successful integration of flex fuels and biofuels in its transportation. During the Bharat Mobility Show 2025, automakers displayed flex cars — Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Toyota Hycross, Hyundai Creta, Tata Punch, and Mahindra XUV 3XO — that can run on up to 85-100% ethanol. While ethanol is less expensive than petrol, there is a downside to the fuel: it delivers less efficiency or mileage by 30% than pure petrol. Toyota plans to overcome this disadvantage by electrifying the flex fuel vehicle using strong hybrid technology. "Strong hybrid cars with petrol engines are usually 40% to 50% more fuel efficient than petrol-only vehicles. So the loss in efficiency from E100 will be more than compensated by the improved efficiency of a strong hybrid with less carbon footprints," said TKM Senior VP & director (technical & purchase) Sudeep S Dalvi, who expects the rollout of flex fuel vehicles to be aligned to government policies and regulations. Maruti Suzuki has in its 2030 product plan said 25% of its vehicles will be compatible with ethanol-blended fuel E20 while another 25% will be hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) . At present, it has two HEV products in its portfolio: the Grand Vitara and Invicto, which use Toyota's Strong Hybrid Technology.
