Grammy-nominated singer coming to Glasgow's St Luke's

Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier, will take to the stage at St Luke's on Tuesday, October 21. Gauthier, described by Entertainment Focus as "one of the great storytellers and songwriters of our age", has been in the music industry for more than 30 years. Gauthier, who has been praised by The Sun for making the world "a little easier" to navigate, has had a colourful career. She moved to Nashville at the age of 40 to pursue a career in music, and within a year, she had gone from playing open mics to performing at the Newport Folk Festival. Exploring difficult themes from her life, such as adoption trauma and addiction, Gauthier has used song-writing as a way to find purpose in her life. The musician has also turned her hand to literature, with her recent book, Saved by a Song, named a "must-read" by Rolling Stone Magazine.
