Woman, 67, who died in crash that injured two teenagers named

A woman who died in a two-car crash on the A75 has been named by police. Mary Reeves, of Kirkcudbruight, died following a crash between a grey Ford Ka and a white Seat Ibiza. Police were called to the road between Castle Douglas and Bridge of Dee at around 8.50pm on May 3. The 67-year-old, who was driving the white Seat Ibiza, was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, where she later died. The 19-year-old driver of the Ka and the 16-year-old passenger were seriously injured. The road was closed for 13 hours while investigations were carried out. Police said enquiries into the incident are ongoing. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'A 67-year-old woman who died following a crash on the A75 between Castle Douglas and Bridge of Dee has been named as Mary Reeves, of Kirkcudbruight, Dumfries and Galloway. 'The incident occurred around 8.50pm on Saturday, May 3, 2025, when police were made aware of a crash involving a grey Ford Ka and a white Seat Ibiza. 'Enquiries are ongoing.' The accident happened on the A75 between Castle Douglas and Bridge of Dee on Saturday. Police have named a woman killed in a crash in Dumfries and Galloway. Mary Reeves of Kirkcudbright lost her life following the accident on the A75 between Castle Douglas and Bridge of Dee on the evening of Saturday, May 3. ‌ The 67-year-old had been driving a grey Ford Ka when it was involved in a collision with a white Seat Ibiza. ‌ The Seat was being driven by a 19-year-old man and both he and his 16-year-old passenger were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
