Steven DiLisio wins 115th Massachusetts Open with final-round 69
DiLisio had four birdies, including one from about 50 feet on the par-3 16th, and just one bogey to finish the 54-hole tournament at 5-under 211 to claim the $15,000 top prize.
Marcoux, who plays out of Nashawtuc Country Club, started the final round at 6 under but fell back to the pack with bogeys at the par-4 second and par-5 third. Marcoux, who was able to complete his second round Wednesday, closed with a 74 and finished second at 4 under.

Christopher Tallman of GreatHorse was third at 2 under , his hopes of winning evaporating with a double bogey at the 16th. Peter Knade (69), Jack Wall (67), Jimmy Hervol (70), and Mike Van Sickle (72) tied for fourth at 1 under.
DiLisio is the eighth player to win both the state Open and Amateur, and first since Rob Oppenheim. That list also includes Fran Quinn, Kevin Johnson, Jim Hallett, Charles Volpone, Francis Ouimet, and Jesse Guilford

Jason Thresher, who won at Sacconnesset in 2017 as part of his three consecutive titles, finished in a tie for 21st at 7 over, closing with a 72.
