Governor Healey to sign order supporting Massachusetts construction projects at MBTU event in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – On Tuesday, Governor Healey will be coming to MGM Springfield to address the 106th annual convention of the Massachusetts Building Trades Unions (MBTU).
Governor Healey to promote tax cuts in Springfield before deadline
During her visit, Governor Healey will sign a landmark executive order to support the construction industry, to protect and support Massachusetts jobs, and ensure that construction projects are successfully completed on-time and on-budget.
The MBTU is a 106-year-old organization dedicated to helping working people improve their quality of life. It represents the interests of over 75,000 union construction workers across the Commonwealth. Union members through the MBTU receive family-sustaining wages, comprehensive healthcare coverage, and the security of pension and annuity benefits.
Governor Healey will be speaking at the convention at 11:00 a.m., along with Attorney General Andrea Campbell, Massachusetts Secretary of Labor Lauren Jones, and MBTU President Frank Callahan.
