Told Beed police to take strict action against criminals, invoke MCOCA if needed: Ajit Pawar says
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday said he has specifically asked the Beed police to take strict action, including invoking MCOCA against anyone found violating the law. "We must change our mindset first. Beed has witnessed certain damage to its reputation in recent times, and we must recover from it. We have to rectify our mistakes. Those who are erring need to be penalised," said Pawar, who is also the district guardian minister for Beed. "I have told the police not to think of anybody's caste or creed or affiliations while taking action. A person breaking the law, no matter who he is, what his political affiliations are — whether from the parties in govt or opposition, or no political party at all — he must be penalised as per law and the Constitution. Law is equal for all," he said. Pawar became the guardian minister of Beed after the brutal murder of Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh. Since then, a series of crimes have been unearthed in Beed district. Against this backdrop, Ajit Pawar said the police must not spare the guilty even if he/she claims proximity with him (Pawar). The deputy CM camped for two days in Beed and interacted with officials and people from different walks of life in a series of meetings in order to chart out a development plan for the district. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Do You Remember Her? Take A Deep Breath Before Looking At Her Now. The Noodle Box Undo "We must cooperate. I am trying for greater development of Beed, and arranging more funding," he said, while addressing a public function. Pawar said he contacted Union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to push for the launch of rail service between Beed and Ahilyanagar on the occasion of Marathwada Liberation Day on Sept 17, and also spoke with Murlidhar Mohol, the minister of state for civil aviation, for sanctioning Rs 41 lakh DPR for an airport at Beed. "All these facilities are needed for an all-round development. In the days to come, Beed will witness industrial development due to govt's efforts. We will offer employment to the youth here and offer better public amenities," he said. During his visit to Beed, Pawar laid the foundation stone of the Centre for Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training (CIIIT) and also launched a health mission for sugar cane cutters. He paid a visit to the ancient Kankaleshwar temple of Lord Mahadev to discuss conservation plans for the shrine and carried out a field visit at the site of the proposed sports complex. While Beed district earned a dubious distinction as a "producer of sugar cane cutters", Pawar said state govt will ensure that the next generation of these workers will not pick up seasonal jobs at any cost. "The cane-cutting work needs to be carried out in a mechanised way and experiments are on in some pockets. Sugar cane cutters can own these cane harvesters by forming groups and repaying the loans," he said. Pawar also said that a deduction of Rs 10 per tonne of sugar cane crushed will be carried out for the welfare of the cane cutters. He also announced doubling the ex gratia amount to Rs 10 lakh for the death of sugar cane workers during employment. Pawar, during his visit to the site of the sports complex, had a formal interaction with local residents. Pawar said that he is trying hard to alter the face of Beed. "People must understand that I do not carry a magic wand. You have to show patience. Else, find some other guardian minister," he told people in a lighter vein. If Dhananjay Munde is made minister again, Ajit Pawar's party will be finished, says Jarange
Kolhapur: Reservation activist Manoj Jarange on Wednesday said Dhananjay Munde would not be reinstated as a minister, warning that such an appointment would lead to the downfall of Ajit Pawar 's party. Speaking in Sangli after a meeting with Maratha activists, Jarange outlined plans for a march on Mumbai scheduled for Aug 29. Recently, NCP president and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, who also serves as the guardian minister of Munde's home district of Beed, suggested that Munde might return to the state cabinet after he is cleared of accusations against him. Munde was removed from the cabinet following the public revelation of the murder of Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh. Valmik Karad, a close aide of Munde, is one of the accused in the murder case. "Don't even think in your dreams that Munde will be made minister again. It is not so easy now. Ajit Pawar's party will be finished. We will not leave those who cause injustice against the poor," said Jarange. The Maratha activist from Jalna criticised the ongoing administration under Ajit Pawar, stating that the system remained unchanged. "The system is as it was. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like They Were So Beautiful Before; Now Look At Them; Number 10 Will Shock You Reportingly Undo How will any change come? Pawar should remove all the officials who have been sitting on various posts for years. He should transfer them and bring officers from outside. The crime rate has not decreased. Before I left for this tour, three murders had taken place in Beed and Parli. Where is the change?" Jarange asked. Appealing to fellow Marathas in govt, Jarange urged ministers and MLAs to support the demand for granting Kunbi status to all Marathas for eligibility into the OBC quota. "Marathas in govt don't raise their voice for poor Marathas. I also appeal to Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, both Marathas, to join us and stand with us. The community will never forget you. There might be differences between both; let them keep that aside. Otherwise, both will be finished," he said. Regarding the planned protest, Jarange announced that Azad Maidan in Mumbai would serve as the focal point of the protest. "The turnout of Marathas will be historic. We have sought BKC ground, Shivaji Park, and a few others where Marathas will stay during the protest period," added Jarange. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Police nabbed dismissed Beed sub-inspector Ranjit Kasale from Delhi early on Sunday morning in connection with a case registered in Mumbai. Additionally, the Beed police registered two more cases against the dismissed policeman for causing communal disharmony and making defamatory statements via social media posts. Separately, Shiv Sena Beed district president Sushil Galdhar filed charges against Kasale for making defamatory statements about Sanjay Shirsat, the state minister for social justice. The two new FIRs were registered at the cyber police station in Beed late on Friday, 22 minutes apart, adding to his existing legal challenges. He previously faced multiple FIRs regarding allegations of poll manipulation in Beed district and accusations against senior police officers through social media videos. Additionally, he faces a cheating case for not returning money allegedly taken from a builder. After receiving bail in one case over a week ago, Kasale released a video alleging VIP treatment for Valmik Karad, the primary accused in Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh's abduction and murder case, inside prison. Prison authorities dismissed these claims, noting that Kasale was in Harsul Central Prison in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, while Karad was detained in a Beed facility. Police reports indicate that Shiv Sena's Beed district chief Swapnil Galdhar lodged the first Friday night case. The complaint states that Kasale made defamatory statements on social media against Maharashtra minister Sanjay Shirsat, an additional director general rank police officer, and a Gujarati businessman. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The FIR mentions Kasale's allegations about attempts to convert black money into white through various people. Local social activist Mohan Aghav filed the second FIR, accusing Kasale of attempting to create communal discord and foster enmity between communities through his social media content. "Both FIRs were registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant sections of the IT Act. Once the Mumbai police are done questioning Kasale, we will take legal steps to take our investigation forward," said a senior police officer from Beed. Kasale, formerly with the Beed cybercrime, has a history of disciplinary issues and faces numerous criminal cases registered in recent months in Beed, Parli, and Ambajogai. These additional FIRs are expected to increase his legal difficulties.
