Kumulur agri-engineering college wins first prize in national innovation contest
The Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute, Kumulur, a constituent of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, has secured the first prize in the Institutional Category of the Massey DYNASTAR Contest – Season 2, 2025, organised by Tractors and Farm Equipment Ltd. (TAFE).
The winning team's innovation – an eight-row tractor-mounted transplanter designed to work with the Massey Ferguson DYNATRACK 241 tractor – was recognised for its originality, scalability, and potential social impact.
The contest, aimed at encouraging grassroots agricultural innovation, attracted over 16,000 entries from across 26 States and five Union Territories. In addition to the award, the students have been offered internship opportunities with TAFE, according to a press release.
