National conference on new educational policy
Kochi: The educational wing of Sangh Parivar will organize a national conference on the new educational policy with reference to Indian knowledge traditions in Kochi from July 24-27. RSS chief Mohan Bhagawat, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Sri M and Baba Ramdev are among the noted personalities who will attend along with nearly 200 vice-chancellors from across the country. The conference, hosted by Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, will be held at Adi Shankara Nilayam, Piravom, from July 24-26. It aims to evaluate and strategise the continuation of programmes like Jnanotsav and Jnanamahakumbh, which were instrumental in uniting various institutions to restore Indian values in education over the past five years, said conference coordinator A Vinod. Mata Amritanandamayi receives peace award
CHENNAI: Mata Amritanandamayi Devi was honoured with the Vivekananda International Peace Award instituted by Vivekananda International Relations during a ceremony held in Amritapuri Ashram hall on Friday. The award recognises her public welfare activities at an international level, said an official release. She, in her benedictory address, emphasised the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and the importance of Sanatana Dharma in fostering global peace. She said peace will prevail in the world if people consider nature as belonging to everyone. The award, comprising a plaque and commendation certificate, was handed over to her by Gagan Malhotra and Ravikumar Iyer from Vivekananda International Relations.
