Hagan would like another victory at hometown track this weekend
Bristol, TN — The roar of thunder will be heard in Bristol this weekend for the 24th annual Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals on June 6-8. The Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals will once again deliver an incredible sensory overload with 12,000-horsepower nitro burning machines blazing down the track – and through the mountains – at more than 330 mph. 42-year-old Virginia native Matt Hagan, a 4-time series champion who drives for Tony Stewart, only trails Jack Beckman and Austin Prock in points, and claims Bristol as his home track since he only lives 104 miles. 'This is one of the most special wins I've ever had. Was at Bristol Motor Father's Day. And, you know, they always say not one in here. Star. And I was so emotional having my parents here, my dad here, like just my family. I mean, I cried, like, chased him down. I did like Bristol ranks up. There was one of the most special tracks because it was back then. We raced on Father's Day weekend. It's one that I'll always remember, and I hope to get a few more Bristol wins before we get out of here. There's some tracks in that I've had 4 or 5 six wins on, and I've only got one here in Bristol, so I think, you know, it's time to make a full circle and, and get, get another win here this weekend.' The Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway are from June 6-8. Remember, every ticket is a pit pass. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
