Matt Hardy Cautions Young Wrestlers Of Burning Bridges With Other Promotions On Social Media
TNA Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy urges Young Wrestlers to be cautious about burning bridges with other promotions. During his The Extreme Life With Matt Hardy podcast, he emphasized that wrestlers should focus on their own work and keep a positive attitude, rather than criticizing other promotions publicly. 'One thing I would say is learn how to not be overly opinionated when you're talking about other promotions. Learn how to shut the hell up and just worry about what you're doing, speak positively, and stop talking negatively about other places.' Advertisement The TNA star warned the young wrestlers that being overly opinionated could hurt future opportunities, especially if a wrestler ends up released. 'Because if you do get to that point where you do get released and you're gone, then you've kind of screwed yourself up from going somewhere else. Pro wrestling is a small world in the big scheme of things… don't burn bridges before you have an opportunity to go somewhere else just in case.' He also encouraged wrestlers to be smart about their use of social media instead of engaging in online negativity. 'If you're a wrestler, if you're a performer, be better than that, be smarter than that, and learn how to just talk about the things that are positive, the things that you like, and let your grievances go. The best thing you can possibly do is if there's something you don't like, just shut the hell up about it.' The group includes Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC, and Marina Shafir. They came together at AEW All Out after turning on Bryan Danielson. Many fans are still unsure about their purpose and what they want to achieve in AEW, which Matt Hardy also agrees with. Advertisement Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Hardy spoke about the main event of AEW Dynasty and reiterated his comments from last week's show, where he believes the Death Riders faction has run its course. 'As I'd said last week before we ever got to the pay-per-view event… I feel it's one of those times where, you know, the Death Riders thing, it has pretty much run its course,' Matt Hardy said. 'I love Jon Moxley [and] I think in many ways, Jon Moxley is the heart and soul of AEW; I think he busts his ass for AEW. 'He takes these crazy risks and he puts it on the line for AEW week in and week out, no doubt, but I think it is time to go a different direction and try and start something new that could possibly catch fire. AEW really, really, really needs something to get hot and catch fire to kind of get their momentum back, I think so. I don't necessarily understand their whole mission at AEW, what are they trying to accomplish?' WWE and AEW Legends Mourn the Death of Hardcore Icon
The ECW icon Sabu has passed away at the age of 60, as multiple outlets confirmed Sunday morning. "The Suicidal, Homicidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying Maniac" had his last match just a few weeks ago against Joey Janela at a GCW event during WrestleMania week. Sabu's career spanned three decades, wrestling in nearly every major promotion across the globe. His impact on the business is impossible to articulate, but some WWE and AEW legends tried in some heartfelt messages on X. Rob Van Dam, who teamed with Sabu for years and competed against each other in some of the most legendary hardcore bouts of all time, kept his tribute simple. AEW manager MVP had perhaps the most charming statement. Former WCW and WWE standout Marc Mero shared a more recent flick of the two with some kind words. Current TNA Tag Team Champion and future WWE Hall of Famer Matt Hardy posted a classy memorial. WWE superstar Sami Zayn, who routinely pays his respects to those who paved the way, highlighted Sabu's undeniable influence. Current AEW color commentator and former ECW Champion Taz released a heartfelt video. Wrestling great and Busted Open Radio host, Bully Ray, posted some touching throwback pictures. AEW fan-favorite Mark Briscoe credited the revolutionary high-flyer for getting him in the squared circle. Sabu constantly put his body on the line for the enjoyment of fans. It was clear he had a desire to continually one-up himself and create more jaw-dropping physical feats. His creativity is second to none, and there's something about his ability to always do something spectacular every time he steps in the ring that is impossible to replicate. His wars with RVD, Terry Funk, and Sandman deserve more recognition and hopefully get another moment in the sun.
