Taylor Swift to 'take the high road' over Denise Welch jibes
Taylor Swift plans to 'take the high road' after being slammed by ex-boyfriend Matt Healy's mother Denise Welch. The 35-year-old superstar and the 36-year-old 1975 frontman briefly dated following her split from actor Joe Alwyn, in April 2023 and Taylor went on to reference their relationship in her album The Tortured Poets Department. During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Matt's mother Denise insisted it was unfair that Matt couldn't talk about the relationship. She said: 'Obviously, on pain of death can I talk about that episode, but being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad I lost. 'Not that I have anything against [Taylor] at all! It was just – it was tricky. 'Listen, you're not allowed to say anything, and then she [Taylor] writes a whole album about it.' However, Taylor – who has been happily dating NFL star Travis Kelce for the past few years - plans to ignore Denise's jibes. A source told 'It's a bit obnoxious in Taylor's eyes, but she has to take the high road. 'If there was anything that would be in a future song of Taylor's – if she were ever to respond – she would respond that way. But as of right now, she might just let it slide. She is not going to let Denise ruin her day. 'Taylor respected Denise and will continue to do so, as this will go away very quickly. 'But if Denise continues to talk about it and bash Taylor, then Taylor would say something. The ball is still in Denise's court to see if she wants to continue the narrative she brought upon herself.'

Pop star sparks feud with Loose Women favourite as she takes swipes during foul-mouthed Glasto set
POP singer Kate Nash has taken a swipe at Denise Welch while performing at Glastonbury. The star, 37, headlined the Left Field tent at the festival and launched into a foul-mouthed tirade at various people including JK Rowling, Rod Stewart - and surprisingly the Loose Women favourite. 4 4 4 Kate ranted: 'The music industry doesn't know what to do with me. They tried to get rid of me, but they didn't. There is a record executive sweating their t*** off with Matt Healy 's mum. 'They're scared of me. I like that. But I was made of mother f****** bricks. But they didn't believe me. I even gave them a second warning a few years later when I told them 'Do not underestimate the girl'. Is it my fault they didn't believe me? 'I'm not going to give my third warning. It's too late for that. I'm taking my bricks and I'm throwing them through the f****** window.' Denise was at Glastonbury this weekend to support her son Matt Healy who was headlining with his band The 1975. Matt meanwhile preached love to fans during the band's set on the Pyramid Stage. Pausing between songs to address the crowd on Friday night, he said: "The lack of politics in this show, it is a conscious decision. "We don't want our legacy to be one of politics - we want it to be that of love and friendship. "You go out into the world and there is loads of politics. We don't need more, we need more love and friendship. "If you are a young kid and inspired about this band, aspire for friendship and love in what you do and you will never fail - and I love you." Last year Kate revealed she had joined OnlyFans to fund her tour. She said the extra money meant she wouldn't have to compromise on things like staff wages and safe tour buses that aren't overcrowded. Kate said she was determined to put on a "high quality show for fans" and said of her money-making campaign: "I've got a great bum. "I often flash a bit anyway so it was a fun idea, but I didn't think it would get this much of a reaction." Kate's debut album, Made Of Bricks, which went straight to No1 when it came out in 2007. 4 Kate split from her label and self-released her third and fourth records, the latter being called Yesterday Was Forever in 2018. She previously revealed she found herself in financial difficulty. The Brit School alum told The Guardian of the dip in her success after Foundations and said: "I'd trusted the wrong people with my money, which meant I had to sell my flat and move back in with my parents. "I'd worked so hard and had nothing to show for it. The worst part was that I knew I wasn't going to give up. "I briefly thought I should become a teacher instead, but then I realised: 'How are you going to do that? You don't even have a degree because you didn't get into any universities.' "Having this career is about fighting your way through it."

British pop rock band The 1975 will be the first headliners to grace the Glastonbury Festival's Pyramid Stage this year when they perform on Friday evening. Made up of four school friends, the group, known for songs including Chocolate, Someone Else and About You, is comprised of singer Matt Healy, bassist Ross MacDonald, guitarist Adam Hann, and drummer George Daniel. The five-day celebration of music and performing arts, which opened its gates on Wednesday, will also see headline performances from veteran rocker Neil Young and his band the Chrome Hearts, and US pop star Olivia Rodrigo. The BBC confirmed on Thursday that Young's Saturday Pyramid Stage set will not be broadcast live 'at the artist's request'. Rapper Liam Og O hAnnaidh was charged for allegedly displaying a flag in support of proscribed terrorist organisation Hezbollah at a gig in London in November last year. Last week, the 27-year-old, who performs under the stage name Mo Chara, was cheered by hundreds of supporters as he arrived with bandmates Naoise O Caireallain and JJ O Dochartaigh at Westminster Magistrates' Court in 'Free Mo Chara' T-shirts. He was released on unconditional bail until his next hearing at the same court on August 20. On Thursday evening, the rap trio posted a film they executive produced to social media, titled Stop The Genocide, which includes testimonies from a Palestinian activist and plastic surgeon on the war in Gaza. Performing in the coveted Sunday legends slot this year is Sir Rod Stewart, who previously said he will be joined by his former Faces band member Ronnie Wood, as well as some other guests. Sir Rod's performance will come after he postponed a string of concerts in the US, due to take place this month, while he recovered from flu. Among the other acts expected to draw large crowds this year is pop star Charli XCX, who is engaged to The 1975 drummer Daniel and will perform songs from her sixth studio album, Brat. She is performing on Saturday night on the Other Stage, 15 minutes before the West Holts stage is graced by US rapper Doechii, another artist who has exploded in popularity in the last year. Other performers include: Prada singer Raye; US musician Brandi Carlile; Nile Rodgers and Chic; US pop star Gracie Abrams; Mercury Prize-winning jazz quintet Ezra Collective; US rapper Denzel Curry; and rising star Lola Young.
