Overwhelming community outreach helps Menasha Police Department quickly identify fishing gear vandals

MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) – The two individuals believed to be involved in a recent incident involving were quickly found by police thanks to what they say was an overwhelming amount of help from the community. According to a release from the Menasha Police Department, the individuals involved in the recent fishing gear vandalism incident near the Menasha Locks were positively identified just four hours after the case was made public. Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office releases dash cam video of pursuit through airport taxiway Police say this is thanks to what was the overwhelming number of tips and messages from the public that helped to directly lead to the identification of both of the individuals involved in the incident. The department says it also received several calls and messages asking how they could help the young victims, with numerous calls asking how to make donations coming from all throughout the Fox Valley. This wasn't just a case of identifying suspects, it was a powerful example of what happens when a community pays attention and takes action. Matt Lenss, the Menashsa Police Department While the Menasha Police Department is not actively soliciting donations, officers say the MPD will facilitate the collection of donations from the members of the community who wish to do so. Green Bay Metro Fire Department holding its first-ever 'Rescue Rally' Donations will be accepted at the Menasha Police Department from now through Friday, June 6, at 4:00 p.m. during normal business hours.
