Liwa University launches two new programmes in health management and informatics

The College of Medical and Health Sciences at Liwa University has announced the launch of two new programmes: A Bachelor's and an Applied Diploma in Health Management and Informatics. These are the first programmes of their kind in the UAE and the Gulf region. The two disciplines represent a unique intersection of administrative skills and technical capabilities within the modern healthcare sector, particularly as reliance on data continues to grow in medical and administrative decision-making. Commenting on the occasion, Professor Maxime Merheb, Dean of the College of Medical and Health Sciences at Liwa University, stated: 'These new programmes come at a time when the pace of digital transformation in the healthcare sector is accelerating globally. They are designed to provide students with a unique blend of skills in health administration and information systems, enabling them to actively contribute to improving healthcare quality and supporting data-driven decision-making.' He added: 'Both programs address essential topics such as healthcare delivery systems, medical coding, health data management, strategic planning, and digital health transformation. They also emphasize ethical practice, data protection, and patient-centered care. The goal is to prepare qualified national professionals capable of managing health systems and analyzing medical data using modern technology, thereby enhancing the efficiency of the healthcare system. Graduates will find a wide range of opportunities in the job market, including hospitals, insurance companies, health data centers, regulatory bodies, and health tech firms.' Liwa University strives to empower all students to succeed academically and personally by providing them with the best resources, support, and guidance. To achieve this, the university offers targeted programmes and services designed to enhance academic progress and wellbeing.
