Maxvolt Energy receives land allotment for battery recycling facility in Aligarh
Maxvolt Energy
has received a land allotment from the Government of Uttar Pradesh for setting up a
lithium battery recycling
and repurposing facility in Aligarh. The allotment letter was handed over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the 'Uttar Pradesh – Udhyam Pradesh' event held in Lucknow on International MSME Day. The initiative is part of the state's ongoing efforts to promote industrial investment in clean energy and advanced manufacturing sectors.
The company has been allotted 23,524 square metres of land for the proposed facility. The site is located near Maxvolt's existing battery manufacturing plant in Ghaziabad, which is expected to support integration across manufacturing and recycling operations.
According to the company, the upcoming facility will focus on lithium battery end-of-life processing, including recovery of materials and component repurposing. The project is aligned with the broader objective of reducing import dependence on raw materials used in battery manufacturing and building capabilities for closed-loop battery lifecycle management within India.
Maxvolt Energy CEO Satendra Shukla said the support from the Uttar Pradesh Government reinforces the company's efforts in domestic battery recycling. Co-founder and CTO Vishal Gupta added that the facility is intended to contribute to domestic value addition in battery materials and long-term resource circularity.
The project adds to a growing number of industry initiatives focused on battery recycling and resource recovery, as the demand for lithium-ion batteries increases across
electric mobility
and stationary energy storage segments. It also aligns with state-level strategies to attract investments in clean technology and build supporting infrastructure for emerging industries.
