Local skating rink hosts May the Fourth be with you event
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Wigwam Skate and Event Center hosted their very own May the Fourth be with you event on Sunday. At the event, those who attended got to skate, play games, win prizes, and had the opportunity to participate in a lightsaber contest. Even special guest Dark Vader made an appearance. President of Wigwam Skate and Event Center, Robert Kramer mentioned he enjoys hosting events for everyone to enjoy. 'Anytime I come to my own buildings and see kids rolling around, having fun, it's an exciting feeling,' said Kramer. 'This for me is not a job, it's a passion.' Terre Haute Children's Museum hosts May the Fourth be with you event
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Terre Haute Children's Museum combined science and Star Wars this weekend with their May the Fourth be with you event. The local museum celebrated all things science and Star wars at the event. Local students from across the Wabash Valley volunteered to help make this event a reality. Those who participated, had the opportunity to learn about the 'unseen forces'. Things like gravity, electricity, and even computer coding. 'We're learning about unseen forces such as magnetism, and gravity. We're even introducing them to coding with some little optics,' said Laurel Tincher, Director of Terre Haute Children's Museum. 'We have some radio control, (kids) are using air pressure. We have some art droids, that are making art for the kids to take home.'
