Henrik Larsson makes cryptic Celtic cameo alongside 3 key men as popular Hoops bar shuts down for filming
Larsson joined three other well-known faces for shoot at the popular McChuills bar in the East End Henrik Larsson made a cameo alongside three Celtic stars for a filming project at a McChuills bar in East End – with the popular Hoops drinking spot shutting down for eight hours to roll out the red carpet. The King of Kings regularly appears in the club's videos and adverts and most recently played a prominent part in their latest Christmas offering. So when filming took place for an as-yet-undisclosed project at the famous Celtic-leaning bar near High Street station, it was no surprise to see Larsson pop up. He was joined by three current Celtic stars – Adam Idah, Kasper Schmeichel and Luke McCowan – for hours of filming for an advert for which the details are yet to be revealed. It took place on Wednesday, May 7 and the bar, which typically opens at 12pm during the week, stayed closed until 8pm to let the cameras do their work. They explained it in a jokey social media post which read: "Unfortunately, due to completely foreseen circumstances, McChuills will be closed today until 8pm." That was followed by a clearly tongue-in-cheek explanation which blames the 'Super-Duper Fitbaw Computer' for trashing their loos after the Pogues gig at the Barrowlands. You can read that on their Facebook page. For now though the Hoops return to their quest in pursuit of another Treble as they round out their Premiership season against Hibs, Aberdeen and St Mirren – before the Scottish Cup showpiece with the Dons on May 24. At some point between now and then, we may find out what this video is all about! Adam Idah, Luke McCowan and Kasper Schmeichel were all spotted arriving at the bar for the project. And alongside them was the King of Kings Henrik Larsson. Larsson, 53, left the Hoops over two decades ago but he's still very much involved with the club to this day. He regularly features in special film projects commissioned by the club, including the most recent Christmas advert which was aired in November. Just days after that video was released the legendary striker was the star of the show at the SEC Armadillo for the highly anticipated An Evening with Henrik Larsson. Earlier this year he took to the stage in Dublin for the first time ever when he appeared in front of Celtic fans for another show at The Helix. Now he's back again - this time in Glasgow - to take part in another project. The contents of this latest film is currently unknown but SunSport understands it is another advert which Larsson and a number of current starts are involved in. A source has described the project as "top secret", with extras and those on site told to hand over their phones until end of filming. McChuills refused to go into detail when they told customers early in the day that the bar would be closed until 8pm. A post on social media read: "Unfortunately, due to completely-foreseen circumstances, McChuills will be closed today until 8pm."
