Popular breakfast fast-food chain quietly leaks new summer menu

Although some might claim they aren't breakfast eaters, few can resist a good fast-food breakfast run before work. Just think about how many people arrive late to the office with a to-go bag in hand. Because of the increased revenue that opening for a few extra hours in the morning can generate, more chains are beginning to introduce breakfast menus. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Fast-food giants like McDonald's (MCD) and Starbucks (SBUX) have used this strategy to their advantage for decades, and other chains like Portillo's are starting to enter the breakfast market by testing it in select locations for a limited time. This week, the second part of the Dunkin' Summer 2025 menu was leaked, and this drop might be one of its largest - not just beverage-wise but also regarding food. It seems like a savvy move, as more chains are adding breakfast items to their menus. Related: Dunkin' launches surprising summer beverages to outdo Starbucks In addition to its beverage offerings, Dunkin' is introducing the new Chipotle Hash Brown Wake-Up Wrap. This wrap is similar to its original Bacon Egg & Cheese Wake-Up Wrap, but is stuffed with hash browns and topped with smoky chipotle aioli. The coffee chain is also adding two pastry items: the new Braided Apple Pie and the Ham & Cheese Croissant Stuffer. The Dunkin' fandom is intense, so to keep its loyal members in mind, the coffee chain is rewarding them with a new in-app exclusive, Bacon Egg & Cheese on a plain bagel with Chipotle Aioli. These new menu additions will drop beginning June 25 and be available at all participating Dunkin' locations nationwide until August 19, as reported by @markie_devo on Instagram. Image source: Corbis/Getty Images In December of last year, Dunkin' introduced its new $5 Meal Deal, which includes a hot or iced coffee and a selection of two Wake-Up Wraps. This value meal was launched to replace its popular $6 Meal Deal and give customers new options for a dollar less. However, it's impossible to please everyone, and the substitution sparked backlash from customers, who thought the $6 Meal Deal was a better offer. Related: McDonald's menu adds experimental new items fans will love For the first part of its summer menu release at the beginning of May, Dunkin' returned the $6 Meal Deal due to popular demand, offering a medium hot or iced coffee, hash browns, and a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Sandwich. Now that the second part of its summer menu has been leaked, Dunkin' will return the $5 Meal Deal. Switching this offering every few months could be a strategic move to please more customers. As if all the new additions weren't exciting enough, Dunkin' is getting patriotic and celebrating the 4th of July by launching the new Spangled Donut, which is filled with vanilla buttercream, dipped in blue icing, and topped with 4th of July sprinkles. The coffee chain will also add three 4th of July Takeover Donuts. These patriotic treats will be available from June 25 to July 22. Hero policeman who threatened to ‘smash' teenager's face guilty of misconduct

An award-winning police officer has been found guilty of gross misconduct after threatening to 'smash' a teenager in the face. Pc Lorne Castle, who was Dorset Police's officer of the year, and Pc Susannah Justice, his colleague, were asked to intercept the 15-year-old boy after he was allegedly involved in two assaults in Bournemouth. But during the arrest, Pc Castle allegedly told the youth, who was found to be in possession of a knife, to 'stop screaming like a b---h' and threatened to 'smash him' before putting his hands around the boy's neck. Despite tearfully apologising for his 'out of character' actions at a police misconduct hearing, the 46-year-old was found guilty of gross misconduct in regards to authority, respect, courtesy and conduct. The married father of two is now facing dismissal, with his fate set to be decided at a later date. The case and verdict has prompted backlash, with some praising Pc Castle. Norman Brennan, a retired police officer and founder of the campaign group Protect the Protectors, said: 'Officers have a very difficult job dealing with obstructive, violent and aggressive suspects and this sends the wrong message to them. 'No arrest is without some sort of force and often in a heated situation language will be used which is not the Queen's English. 'He may not have known it while starting the arrest but the boy was carrying a knife so that is what officers have to deal with. 'I'm sick and tired of officers being disciplined for things like this and I think the majority of the public would think if he were to lose his job over this, it would be absolutely bonkers.' The incident which led to Pc Castle's disciplinary hearing happened in Bournemouth town centre at 5.30pm on Jan 27 last year. The boy was suspected of assaulting an elderly man while riding an e-scooter before getting embroiled in a fracas with another youth outside McDonald's. He was also alleged to have run away from town rangers who tried to apprehend him until police arrived. Pc Castle, who has twice won a national bravery award including one for saving an elderly woman from drowning in a swollen river in 2023, spotted the suspect walking up Richmond Hill in Bournemouth. Bodycam footage showed the officer run up to the suspect and push him against the wall before taking him to the ground and straddling him. He told the youth to 'show me your f------ hands' and then put his hands and finger in the teen's face. When the boy was unable to move his arm, Pc Castle told him to 'stop screaming like a little b---h'. Giving evidence, Pc Castle said he became 'overwhelmed and scared' when the boy resisted as his mind flashed back to his arrest of a county lines drug dealer 18 months earlier. Pc Castle admitted he had overstepped the mark with his language and aggression. He broke down in tears as he said: 'I'm embarrassed by the video and I apologise for my actions. 'Anyone who knows me in public or private life knows that is not how I behave... During this arrest, when he started resisting and screaming, I panicked again and overreacted. 'I did not choke the suspect and I did not get him in a headlock. 'I was trying to keep his head still with the palm of my hand so he did not hit his head... During the arrest, I saw the knife fall out of his waistband so he was arrested for a knife offence. 'I think the arrest needed to be made but I lost control of the situation.' A 'pen- or Stanley type' knife fell out of the boy's waistband. Last year, Pc Castle received a National Humane Society award for saving a person from drowning in the River Avon in Christchurch. He had previously been awarded Neighbourhood Police Officer of the Year. Broaden your horizons with award-winning British journalism. Walmart makes deal to open popular food chain in stores

Fast-food chains often launch new and exciting menu items, making this trend almost an expectation for consumers. However, when this fast-food chain launched a Froot Loops Dipped Cone and Shake nationwide in April, it may have secretly teased an upcoming partnership with one of the biggest grocery giants in the U.S. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter This chain began its journey as a humble hot dog stand in Wilmington, California, in 1961. Since then, it has become the world's largest hot dog chain, with around 340 franchised restaurants across 13 states and over 50 locations currently under development nationwide. Image source: Shutterstock Over the last few months, Wienerschnitzel has been devising ways to grow its brand across new markets through a more flexible business model. Moving beyond standalone locations, the chain has begun experimenting with unconventional locations such as airports, military bases, theme parks, food courts, and convenience stores that bring high traffic. To ensure success, it's also attracting high-ranking, multi-unit franchise candidates. And now Wienerschnitzel fans will be able to enjoy its food right at Walmart. Related: Kroger quietly shuts down service that Walmart dominates Walmart is partnering with the hot-dog chain and plans to open six new franchisee-operated restaurants by fall 2025. "Wienerschnitzel has spent decades building a strong reputation, especially on the West Coast, and this expansion into Walmart stores signifies a new era of growth for the brand," said Director of Franchise Expansion Shak Turner in a press release. "It's clear Wienerschnitzel's unique concept fills a specific void for multi-brand franchisees looking to grow their portfolios, which is one of the elements that attracted me to the brand initially. I'm thrilled to join this amazing team and play a part in spearheading initiatives and new partnerships, which will no doubt catapult the brand to new markets," she added. Walmart (WMT) , a massive player in the retail industry, is known for partnering with popular American fast-food chains that align with its value-focused customers. Partners have included Burger King, McDonald's, Domino's, Taco Bell, and Subway, to name a few. The retail giant is also known as a one-stop shop. For decades, it has implemented fast food into its locations to live up to its title. This allows customers to shop for necessities and affordably dine while making just one stop. These new Walmart in-store restaurants will preserve Wienerschnitzel's iconic brand by featuring a full menu and Tastee Freez desserts. "These non-traditional formats allow us to modernize our footprint, bring our iconic flavors to new audiences, and reinforce the brand's relevance in today's evolving retail and dining landscape," said Wienerschnitzel Director of Franchise Development Ted Milburn. "Growing inside these Walmart locations significantly expands our reach and opens the door for franchisees to tap into high-traffic locations with built-in demand." Fleet sizes vs. fast food locations: How they compare

Welcome to the WHAT THE TRUCK?!? Newsletter presented by Drive Axle. In this issue: Fleet sizes vs. fast food locations; drivers share their pay; DIY port; and more. Fleet sizes vs. fast food restaurant locationsGrok Crunchwraps and crunching numbers — I never knew how much XPO and Taco Bell were alike. We all know McDonald's is everywhere, but so are megafleets. That got me curious: How do the largest fleets compare in size to the number of major chain restaurants? I'm not the only one. When I posted about this on LinkedIn, Brad Jacobs seemed to enjoy my But, if XPO is the Taco Bell of fleets, who is the McDonald's of fleets? Turns out J.B. Hunt and Schneider National both have 12,000-14,000 trucks while McDonald's has over 13,000 locations in the U.S. Grok Did you know that McDonald's isn't the biggest fast food chain in the U.S.? That distinction belongs to Subway, with over 19,000 stores. The only fleet that large is Knight-Swift. Despite AI only listing approximately 19,000 trucks for Knight-Swift, the company actually dwarfs Subway with over 27,000 tractors. (Verdict: Dooner>AI) Saia, Landstar and Old Dominion are the Dunkin' of Although AI says none can compare to Chili's, and I'm sure Reed Loustalot would agree with that statement, New Legend and Western Flyer Express both have 1,200 tractors to match Chili's 1,200 locations. Arby's not only has the beef, but it also has 3,398 locations in the U.S.. Marten has 3,349 tractors, making it the Arby's of carriers. Anthony Fecarotta cut his teeth at XPO and filled his mouth with Taco Bell. You may be wondering why Starbucks was curiously absent from this list. David Coffield made his own comparison. There are roughly the same number of food service DCs as there are Starbucks. In terms of fleets, UPS is the closest with over 19,000 trucks. Which fast food restaurant does your fleet match up with? Email me. DIY Port Did you know that you can buy a gantry crane on Alibaba? Even better: You can pay in four easy, interest-free Klarna payments! Bankrate But beware. Missed payments and overspending are starting to become a problem for buy-now, pay-later services. Driver, what's your pay? Truck driver pay is all over the place, so when I saw Indeed list the average truck driver salary as $93,190, it got me curious. Google Wednesday on WHAT THE TRUCK?!?, I caught up with former trucker Justin Martin to break down pay and look at a series of popular TikToks where drivers explain their rate per mile (usually in comically confused ways.) Here's what you all had to say about your pay: This is just a cross section of the replies I received, but maybe Indeed isn't too far off on its average. And of course, net and gross can be two vastly different numbers in trucking. If you really want to dive deep on your own operating numbers, check out Adam Wingfield's Playbook. Is the FMCSA finally getting serious? Earlier this year, the FMCSA made some key changes to the Unified Registration System in an effort to fight the freight fraud epidemic. Starting on April 1, mandatory identity verification via Idemia became a requirement for all new motor carriers. Per CarrierOK: 'This chart shows the monthly counts of Filed vs. Published new carrier applications, and the Filed-to-Published conversion rate (white line). After FMCSA's identity verification became mandatory in April 2025, published counts (light blue) dropped by over 50%, while filings (dark blue) held steady – driving the conversion rate down from ~65% to ~30%.' His new site allows you to easily look up any carrier and see how often it's been put out of service, inspected and more.
