Lando Norris leads McLaren one-two at Hungarian Grand Prix
Two McLaren drivers, wheel to wheel at turn 1, fans on their feet and their bosses biting their nails on the pitwall, this was Formula 1 at its finest. It will certainly feel like it for Lando Norris, who having made an error at the start, had a better strategy and held off his team-mate on fresher tyres brilliantly.
Oscar Piastri, the championship leader, made a critical error on his penultimate attempt to pass Norris, locking up and almost colliding with his team-mate. 'Remember how we go racing', was the call from his race engineer, but for the Australian it was already too late, ruining his chance to have one final attempt on the last lap. Norris closed the gap to his team-mate for the world title to only nine points going into Formula 1's summer shutdown.
