Krishnamoorthy from the Department of Chemistry — in collaboration with Prof. Bithiah Grace Jaganathan, Department of Bioscience and Bioengineering and research scholars Mongoli Brahma, Arup Das Kanungo, Minati Das, and Sam P. Mathew — has developed a responsive fluorescent sensor that can detect cyanide in water and human cells using only a UV light source. The study was published in Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy. Researchers from Nagaland University led by Prof. Prabhakar Sharma, Head of the Department of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, developed bio-based soft technologies to recover valuable resources such as nutrients, biofuels, biogas, and clean water from wastewater. The findings were published in the peer-reviewed journal Current Opinion in Environmental Science and Health. Emilie Chouzenoux from Inria Saclay, France, and Prof. Angshul Majumdar — along with graduate students Stuti Jain, Kriti Kumar and Sayantika Chatterjee — from IIIT Delhi have developed an AI-based method that could help doctors treat drug-resistant infections by recommending alternative antibiotics using existing medications.
