Media staff taken on tour of Klang Valley hospitals
Media representatives in IHH's 'Media Health Hunt Challenge'. FORTY media professionals from 20 leading publications were taken on a 'health hunt challenge' throughout the Klang Valley. IHH Healthcare Malaysia (IHH) hosted its inaugural event, a full-day, interactive journey across six of its hospitals – Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Pantai Hospital Ampang, Pantai Hospital Cheras, Pantai Hospital Klang, Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Prince Court Medical Centre. Through this experience, media representatives gained insight into how IHH delivers personalised care. At every hospital, media representatives witnessed the level of care through specialists, cutting-edge technologies and a focus on treatment delivery. 'We wanted our media partners to not only explore the selected services at each hospital, but to also truly experience what sets IHH Healthcare Malaysia apart,' said IHH regional chief executive officer Erica Lam. 'From our tertiary hospitals to community-focused ones, we operate as a connected network that enables seamless, end-to-end care across our facilities. 'Through our structured internal-referral system, patients are guided to the right specialist, ensuring timely, effective and coordinated treatment,' Lam added. The Health Hunt was designed as an engaging, hands-on experience. Participants solved location-based clues, explored core specialities and services at each hospital, and interacted with clinical teams – thus gaining a closer look at the distinctive capabilities that define each facility. At each stop, participants had the opportunity to explore a selection of services offered by the respective hospitals. The flag-off took place at Prince Court Medical Centre, which showcased advanced medical services, including the Accident & Emergency department featuring Malaysia's first electric motorcycle ambulance. Participants explored services at the new Orthopaedic Clinic and experienced the state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool for enhanced rehabilitation. They also visited the brand-new Smart Paediatrics Ward, powered by voice-command technology and designed for optimal comfort for young patients and their families. Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur highlighted its strength in specialised care, including oncology and cardiology services. Participants also experienced the hospital's advanced robotic-assisted technologies, such as Mako SmartRobotics for precision joint surgery and the EksoNR robotic exoskeleton – a state-of-the-art wearable device that supports stroke survivors and individuals with neurological conditions on their recovery journey. Pantai Hospital Klang shared insights into its Cardiac Catheterisation Lab and interventional cardiology services, where time-sensitive procedures play a crucial role in managing cardiac emergencies.
