Lucy Beaumont makes 'amazing' gesture after costing charity £79,000 on The Wheel
Lucy Beaumont has made a huge gesture towards a cancer charity after losing £79,000 on The Wheel. The comedian was competing in Michael McIntyre's BBC game show to win money for various contestants. The game sees a series of participants, guided by celebrity experts, attempting to answer their way to a fortune. However, after leading one of the participants astray, Lucy is now pleading with the public to help raise some money. Taking to Instagram, Lucy wrote to Newcastle City Hall saying: 'Hello, I'm a comedian (Lucy Beaumont) I recorded an episode of Michael McIntyre's The Wheel the other night and I lost a cancer survivor £79,000. 'I've done the show before and lost someone £98,000. 'The contestant in question is a Newcastle lad and top bloke and was trying to raise money for the charity Maggies. 'Could I put on a comedy charity night at your venue with a great line up to try and raise some money?' The comedian went on to add: 'I'll put my hand in my pocket too.' Towards the end of last year, Lucy finally broke her silence regarding her split from fellow comedian Jon Richardson. The pair announced they had 'jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways', just after the fifth season of their show hit screens. It was also reported that Jon agreed to a seven-figure payout from Lucy. The comedians were married in 2015 after being set up by a fellow comedian and mutual friend, After Life's Roisin Conaty. The pair welcomed their daughter in 2016. But Lucy told OK! Magazine: 'People might think I should talk about it because we were so public and everyone knew us as a couple, but I won't, and not because there's any animosity. Celebrity Traitors full line-up is REVEALED: Stephen Fry, Alan Carr, Paloma Faith and Tom Daley are among the stars confirmed for the highly-anticipated show
The full-line up for Celebrity Traitors has finally been revealed after months of speculation. Celebrity Traitors will once again be hosted by Claudia Winkleman with the line-up of contestants making their way to Ardross Castle to kick off filming. On Tuesday, the 19 big names taking part in the highly-anticipated star-studded version of the murder mystery game were revealed by The Sun. The celebrities who will become Traitors and faithfuls include Stephen Fry, Alan Carr, Nick Mohammed, Tom Daley, Joe Marler, David Olusoga, Niko Omilana, Mark Bonnar, Jonathan Ross, Joe Wilkinson, Clare Balding, Lucy Beaumont, Paloma Faith, Ruth Codd, Tameka Empson, Celia Imrie, Charlotte Church, Kate Garraway and Cat Burns. Missing from the confirmed line-up was Jennifer Saunders, who was rumoured to be taking part. Comedian Lucy became the last star to sign up for the show on Monday following her shock split from fellow comedian Jon Richardson. The Award-winning funny woman, 40, is said to be keen to 'make more of a name for herself' with audiences and will be heading off to the show's Scottish castle to begin filming within the next few days. A source told The Sun: 'Lucy is a massive fan of the show and is so excited about getting stuck in at Ardross Castle. 'After her split from Jon, she has been working really hard to make more of a name for herself and Celebrity Traitors is the ideal opportunity.' Lucy, who has appeared on numerous panel shows and won Chortle Award for Best Newcomer in 2012, announced her decision to divorce Jon in April 2024 after nine years of marriage in a move that surprised their fans. The couple first met through friend Roisin Conaty and went on to work together on a number of shows including Meet The Richardsons. But in a joint statement in April, they said: 'After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated. We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.' Jon handed over £1.625million to Lucy when they called time on their marriage. Speaking about the split, she told OK! Magazine: 'People might think I should talk about it because we were so public and everyone knew us as a couple, but I won't, and not because there's any animosity. As excitement increases for the Celebrity Traitors, BBC bosses took extra precautions to keep the cast under wraps ahead of its reveal, following a series of leaks. According to The Sun, executives put in place a military-style operation to transport the all-star cast to Ardross Castle. Instead of flying into Inverness Airport from their homes across the globe, the celebrities will travel by several means including rail, air, car, and boat. And a no-fly zone is officially in place over host Claudia 's Highlands HQ to stop drone photographers from securing any images. A source told the publication: 'For a show with secrecy and shocking plot twists at its heart, navigating the celebrity version has been a real puzzler. 'Casting the likes of TV presenter Kate Garraway, former rugby star Joe Marler, and singer Paloma Faith creates a situation which is a lot more open to leaks and gossip than recruiting a call centre manager from Liverpool or a retired opera singer. 'So execs have worked really hard to lock down every inch of the production.' The source added that instead of a simple travel process, celebrities will arrive via various methods of transport. The source also claimed that a no-fly zone has already been put in place to stop any preparations from being snapped.

He then shared that he had already accepted a teaching job, stating: 'I've been doing some training, I've taken a teaching position.
