Laceyville man sentenced for possessing child sex abuse materials
LACEYVILLE, Pa. (WETM) – A Laceyville man has been sentenced to serve time in a county correctional facility after officials say he was found with child sex abuse materials. Blake A. Manning, 19, was sentenced to a minimum of six months to a maximum of two years in the Bradford County Correctional Facility, along with five years of probation, for the crime of possession of child sexual abuse material, as stated in a release from the Bradford County District Attorney's Office. Painted Post woman arrested on child sex abuse material charge Officials say Manning was charged with the crime by Pennsylvania State Police in October of 2024 following an investigation where troopers found pictures of two 14-year-old girls on Manning's cell phone. As a result, Manning will be placed on monitoring with the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, SORNA and Pennsylvania's version of Megan's Law for 15 years, which will require him to report to state police regularly, said the DA. Cambria County man caught with child porn during probation
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Nanty Glo man is facing charges after he was allegedly found to have child pornography on his cellphone when probation officers were conducting a visit. Latham Cohoon, 35, is facing charges of possession of child sex abuse material after a routine home visit led to the discovery of child porn, according to a criminal complaint. On May 2, the Cambria County Probation arrived at a home on Johnson Street in the Nanty Glo Borough for a routine visit with Cohoon. According to Pennsylvania's Megan's Law website, Cohoon was charged and convicted in 2021 with crimes against children. In March of 2023, he was charged with possession of child pornography, and in April, he was charged with sexual abuse of children. School bus aide accused of sexually touching 5-year-old: 'To make her happy' Cohoon answered the door for officers and allowed them into his home. He also allegedly allowed them to look around his house. According to the affidavit, a probation officer asked Cohoon if he had a cell phone, and he initially told them that it was at his sister's house. Then he admitted that it was in the house and showed it to the police. When the probation officer asked him if there was anything on it, he allegedly stated, 'You know what's on the phone.' Police asked him if child pornography was going to be on the phone, and he stated 'There was,' according to the complaint. Cohoon gave police permission to search the phone, and 'numerous images consistent with child pornography' were found. The cell phone was seized and placed into evidence. Cohoon is set to be arraigned in the near future and is facing felony charges of disseminating photos/film of child sex acts, possessing child sexual abuse material and criminal use of a communication facility. Former Meshoppen man sentenced after failing to update sex-offender registry
MESHOPPEN, Pa. (WETM) — A Pennsylvania inmate was sentenced recently to more time in a Pennsylvania State Prison after failing to update his address required by law, according to the Bradford County District Attorney's Office. Matthew C. Salsman, 36, formerly of Meshoppen, PA, and currently an inmate in the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill, was sentenced to a minimum of 30 months to a maximum of eight years for failure to comply with registration requirements, a felony in the second degree. ICE detain alleged undocumented immigrant after assault sentencing in Bradford County Salsman's sentencing stems from an arrest by state police in May 2023 after he failed to comply with Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act requirements, Pennsylvania's form of Megan's Law. Salsman was deemed a sex offender after his prior convictions for assault with intent to rape in Santa Barbara County, California, along with a similar charge of failing to register in Wyoming County, PA, in 2016, according to the DA's office. By law, people with sexual convictions of this nature are required to register their current addresses along with other personal information so that authorities can keep track of them, the DA's office said. This sentence will serve to keep Salsman in prison for a significant amount of time, the DA's office said. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
