12 Bangladeshis held in Kolar, shifted to detention centres
Kolar: Srinivaspura police Thursday detained 12 Bangladeshi nationals, including four children, and sent them to detention centres in Tumkuru and Nelamangala.
According to police, two men moving around suspiciously at Srinivaspura were picked up for questioning.
They admitted to working as rag pickers and revealed that several acquaintances were living in camps near Nandagudi, doing the same work.
A police team later brought in another 10 people from the area, including four children.
Superintendent of police B Nikhil and assistant commissioner of Kolar subdivision directed their relocation. Srinivaspura police inspector Mehaboob Pasha said two of the eight adults had been staying illegally in India for years, while the women and children had arrived recently.
