Authorities investigate woman's death in unincorporated Santa Paula, Upper Ojai area
Authorities are investigating the death of a woman in an unincorporated area of Santa Paula.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Office received a report around 9:10 p.m. May 31 of a suspicious death in the 1200 block of Sisar Road in unincorporated Santa Paula, often referred to as Upper Ojai, said sheriff's Capt. John Hajducko. Sisar Road is off Ojai Road, near Ojai Unified's Summit Elementary School.
Deputies with the Fillmore station arrived to find the woman dead in the home, he said. The sheriff's major crimes detectives are investigating her death.
Hajducko said the sheriff's office had no suspect information as of 8:15 a.m. June 1. However, he said the public does not have a reason to be concerned at this time.
No additional information was available, Hajducko said.
The last homicide in the area was Feb. 28 in Meiners Oaks. A 42-year-old woman was found dead inside her garage and a 29-year-old Oxnard man was later arrested in connection with her death.
