Will Ferrell's son wins ‘emergency contact' TikTok trend with hilarious video of father
Will Ferrell 's oldest son is the latest person to join in on TikTok 's 'emergency contact' trend. On Tuesday, 20-year-old Magnus Ferrell posted a video of the Step Brothers actor wearing a red polo and grey shorts as he dances awkwardly. 'My emergency contact,' he wrote on top of the clip alongside a red heart emoji as 'Ordinary Girl' by Miley Cyrus plays in the background. The emergency contact trend started last month when people began showing videos of their loved ones doing something awkward or silly to jokingly question why they have given them any form of responsibility. For example, one woman posted a video of her husband peeling an avocado instead of cutting the fruit in half and scooping it out of the skin. The trend is always played to Miley Cyrus's Hannah Montana song. As of Thursday morning, Magnus's video has received over eight million views with many people turning to the comments section to tell him that he's 'won' the trend. Other commenters expressed their jealousy at Magnus having the Elf star as his emergency contact. 'Weirdly, I feel like Will Ferrell is good in an emergency,' one person wrote in the comments. Another commenter agreed, writing, 'I trust anyone who can dance like that with my life.' 'As a healthcare professional myself if I saw your dad coming in as your emergency contact, I know I would at least be smiling that shift,' a third commenter wrote. Magnus's father — who also shares 18-year-old Mattias and 15-year-old Axel with his wife Viveca Paulin — recently starred in the Prime Video comedy You're Cordially Invited. While promoting the film last month, he recalled some of the toughest notes he's received from directors, naming Woody Allen as one filmmaker he was left particularly confused by. '[He] came up and was like, 'I don't know how to say this, but you're coming off nasty,'' Ferrell said about a moment that happened on the set of Allen's 2004 comedy Melinda and Melinda. 'I was like, 'Okay.'' Allen then reminded Ferrell that the movie 'was a comedy.' 'I said, 'I'm not trying to come off nasty,'' Ferrell added. 'That was a doozy.' On Monday, the series released a list of former cast members who will once again take the famed 30 Rock stage. In the clip, a car drives along the streets of New York City, passing by massive blue post-it notes bearing the names of the comedy legends who will be returning for the noteworthy occasion. The cast includes a mix of original cast members in addition to Ferrell such as Laraine Newman, Chevy Chase, Jane Curtin and Garrett Morris to more recent alumni Jimmy Fallon, Amy Poehler, Eddie Murphy, Fred Armisen, Molly Shannon, Kristen Wiig, Adam Sandler, Maya Rudolph, Pete Davison, Tracy Morgan, Tina Fey, Will Forte, Kate McKinnon, Andy Sandberg, Seth Meyers, Kenan Thompson, Jason Sudeikis, and Chris Rock.

Angelina Jolie Makes Rare Statement on Friendship With Ex-Husband
At the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Wednesday, Angelina Jolie made rare remarks about where she stands with her ex-husband (via People). Jolie was speaking about her career with film critic Leonard Maltin while receiving the Maltin Modern Master Award when conversation turned to Hackers (1995), the cult-classic cyber-punk thriller in which she starred with her ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller. Jolie and Miller were married from 1996 until 1999. "I was just saying to somebody, it's really funny because I think you're starting with Hackers, right?" Jolie said before Maltin rolled a clip from the movie. "Yeah, it's Jonny,' she continued. 'I just talked to him. I love that—I get to see my ex-husband with 2,000 people," Jolie the clip, Jolie called the experience of making the film—one of her first—'amazing.' 'It's so nice to see it," she said of the scene. "Actually, it's funny, I don't really watch my own films, and so I [don't] think I've seen it since the premiere,' she added. Jolie then diverged and made a rare personal remark, updating the audience on where she and Miller stand 26 years after their divorce. 'I do have a wonderful relationship with Jonny,' she said, adding that 'he and I have sons the same age, and I'm so happy." A source told People back in 2021 that Jolie's son Knox is close pals with Miller's son Buster, whom the Melinda and Melinda star shares with his ex, Michelle Hicks. Following her divorce from Miller, Jolie went on to marry and divorce Billy Bob Thornton and Brad Pitt. Since splitting from Pitt in 2019, Jolie has not been publicly linked to any romantic suitors. She's devoted her time to raising her children and focusing on her humanitarian work, only occasionally appearing in films such as The Eternals (2021) and Maria (2024).

Will Ferrell names and shames filmmaker over ‘nasty' remark
Will Ferrell has recalled some of the toughest notes he's received from directors, naming Woody Allen as one filmmaker he was left particularly confused by. While promoting his new Prime Video comedy You're Cordially Invited – in which he stars with Reese Witherspoon – Ferrell was asked if he remembered some of the most unhelpful director comments he's been given during his career. One, on the set of Allen's 2004 comedy Melinda and Melinda, immediately sprung to mind. '[He] came up and was like, 'I don't know how to say this, but you're coming off nasty',' Ferrell said. 'I was like, 'Okay'.' Allen then reminded Ferrell that the movie 'was a comedy'. 'I said, 'I'm not trying to come off nasty',' Ferrell added. 'That was a doozy.' Melinda and Melinda, a minor hit in 2004, co-starred Radha Mitchell, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Steve Carell and Chloë Sevigny, and revolved around a woman in New York whose life unfolds in two different timelines. Ferrell played a married man who falls for the titular Melinda. During the conversation with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Ferrell also mentioned another filmmaker, who he did not name, who dismissively laughed that a particular line reading of his was 'never going in the movie' and quickly reset the scene. Witherspoon, meanwhile, recalled being asked by a director to 'sparkle' – something she said made her want to 'punch him in the face'. Ferrell and Witherspoon play feuding wedding planners in You're Cordially Invited, which is streaming on Prime Video. Last year, Ferrell led – alongside his friend and frequent collaborator Harper Steele – the Netflix documentary Will & Harper, in which the pair took a road trip together shortly after Steele came out as trans. Speaking to The Independent upon release, Ferrell spoke of his bafflement over the rise in transphobia. 'There is hatred out there,' Ferrell said. 'It's very real and it's very unsafe for trans people in certain situations. But I don't know why trans people are meant to be threatening to me as a cis male. I don't know why Harper is threatening to me.' In her review of the film, The Independent 's film critic Clarisse Loughrey called Will & Harper 'frank, refreshing and funny'.
